English Trainer – Basic English business Course
Background:
SHiFT is currently implementing a project with DRC, funded by DANIDA under TOP-UP title. With the collaboration and technical expertise with Danish Refugee Council, SHiFT will be enhancing the effectiveness and impact of SHiFT's interventions. With the DRC's support, SHiFT is poised to implement social cash for work projects ensuring that interventions are not only relevant and temporary but also have sustainable aspects.
One of the main SHiFT's operational frameworks is integrating the principle of centrality of protection while ensuring a high level of community engagement guaranteeing that their actions do not inadvertently exacerbate existing tensions, conflicts or harm. By integrating centrality of protection, peace building and income generation intervention into their approach, SHiFT contributes to a better livelihood for the extremely vulnerable population within the targeted area focusing on women and people with specific needs.
Job Summary
The English Trainer is expected to conduct and encourage the English learning to the trainees, the English business course is to support the trainees in the job market after finalized this course. The trainer should assist to deliver this content and help the trainees to be ready for a job.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a comprehensive Basic English Business Course curriculum.
- Create engaging and interactive lessons that focus on essential language skills for professional communication.
- Assess the English language proficiency of participants and tailor the course to their specific needs.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to help participants improve their English language skills for business purposes.
- Work with the project team.
- Monthly report for the activities enrolled.
- Complete the classes based on the action plan.
Qualifications and Experience
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences, as well as the commitment to equal opportunities.
- Essential - Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree required (English literature)
- 5 years of work experience (previous experience teaching English).
- Strong capacity to coordinate with a team.
- Integrity, fairness and impartiality.
- Ability to manage sensitive cases and confidential information.
- Diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
