Consultant for product naming and featuring

Background:

SHiFT is currently implementing a project under SHABAKE 2, a program facilitated by Expertise France in Lebanon, and funded by l’Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and Denmark’s development cooperation (Danida).

SHiFT’s intervention is supporting 56 business owners that are struggling in their livelihoods with coaching and training, and is distributing in-kind grants or material to the 56 nano-enterprises based on their business needs. SHiFT is also providing needed technical support related to business recovery and crisis management and is empowering the selected businesses to access to new online and offline markets through branding materials design and small video advertisement production, along with access to market activities such as event, exhibitions or e-commerce platforms registration and linkage.

Job Summary

SHiFT is seeking proposals from experienced consultants/companies to assist in product naming and featuring for beneficiaries’ products. We are looking for innovative and creative professionals who can help us develop compelling names and effectively highlight the key features of products to resonate with target audiences. The consultant is expected to support the SMEs to name their products, as well as provide active guidance to have their products correctly featured.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Product Naming:

  1. Conduct research and analysis to understand the target market, competitors, and industry trends.
  2. Present naming options along with rationale and justification for each proposed name.
  3. Collaborate with the beneficiaries to finalize product names based on feedback and input.

Feature Highlighting:

  1. Identify the unique selling points and key features of products.
  2. Develop strategies to effectively communicate these features to target audiences.
  3. Create compelling messaging and content that highlights the benefits and value proposition of our products.
  4. Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate feature highlighting into marketing materials, including website content, social media posts, and promotional materials.

Other General Functions

  • Support the SMEs to name their products.
  • Work proactively with the SMEs to feature their products to be able to market them on the Application and in store
  • Take ownership for the registration of the products of the MSMEs
  • Train the SMEs on specific tools for marketing and digital marketing
  • Follow through on actions discussed with the MSMEs, gathering feedback and sharing personal learning.
  • Respect the SMEs’ experience, ideas, guidance and time
  • Maintain good relationship and communication with the (MSMEs) and the organization.
  • Participate in the meetings and trainings provided for the marketing of the MSMEs
  • Maintain confidentiality of MSMEs the hosting entity and the organization.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven track record in product naming and branding, preferably in the relevant industry or sector.
  • Creative thinking and ability to develop unique and memorable product names that resonate with the target audience.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and ability to effectively communicate product features and benefits.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills to gather insights and identify market trends.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and gender issues, as well as the commitment to equal opportunities.
  • Essential - Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications & Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing/ Communication
  • At least 2 years of work experience.
  • Strong capacity to coordinate with a team.
  • Familiarity with the Lebanese economy, market, Labor Market and Social Entrepreneurship.
  • Integrity, fairness and impartiality.
  • Ability to manage sensitive cases and confidential information.
  • Knowledge of the Application functioning.
  • Knowledge of the socio-economic circumstances in post Beirut blast zones
  • Demonstrable understanding of the gendered dynamics of labor relations, and linkages to decent work
  • Diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills.                                                                         
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
