Trainer- Training of Trainers on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Right Rights (SRHR) and its link to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)

EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) is a policy network that provides expertise in the field of gender equality, democracy building and citizenship, and advocates for political solutions to all conflicts, and peoples´ rights to self-determination.  Introduction

In the frame of this project, EFI’s Syrian partners will be provided with two training of trainers on Sexual and Reproductive Health and its link to VAWG. The TOT’s will also cover the programs that can be implemented on this issue. They will target WR and HR activists, service providers, and project managers. The ToTs will aim at providing needed capacities to Syrians so they can replicate the trainings inside their organizations, and with local communities. Each ToT will have 15 participants representing Syrian CSOs and CBOs who are active in their local communities and are able to outreach more audience.

Objectives of the consultancy

The objective of this consultancy is to offer a training of trainers workshop that builds the capacity of the participants in terms of SRHR and its link to VAWG.

The trainer will be in charge of training content development, delivery of the trainings, reporting on each training conducted, as well as follow-up with the participants after the training.

Deliverables:

  • Develop training material
  • Provide full 5-day training in total for 15-20 persons and the language used will be Arabic. 
  • Organize a training agenda with caution to ensuring the material is interactive and engaging (including PowerPoint presentation).
  • Prepare a plan for the developing of the training, including strategy and proposed methodologies.
  • Selection of the training dates in collaboration with EFI. 
  • Conduct in-person training delivery on the set dates.
  • Develop pre-test and post-test to evaluate the progress of participants
  • Develop a report on the conducted training based on the trainer’s evaluation and presented material, in addition to proper recommendations.

 

 

Scope of work

  • Enhance the trainees’ understanding of SRHR and its link to VAWG, how it adds value to programming, and how it helps their organization achieve its desired results
  • Develop the trainees’ knowledge and skills to take action in their own communities and at the national and regional levels on issues related to SRHR and its link to VAWG
  • Define essential SRHR topics as sexualities and SRHR issues as essential means to holistically address social factors that contribute to GBV against women, men, girls, boys, and persons with alternative sexualities.
  • Address topics as girls’ autonomy and agency, SRHR in humanitarian crises, clinical response to sexual assault survivors, supporting child survivors, early, forced, child marriage, etc.

      Timeline:

  • The training will be implemented end of September 2022 in Beirut

 

      Qualifications, Background and Experience:

  • Masters/PHD in Law, Social Sciences, International Affairs, or any relevant field of study.
  • 5 years’ experience in conducting conflict assessments and conflict analysis.
  • Relevant training experience or professional experience in Gender, GBV and SRHR.
  • Extensive knowledge in Gender issues.
  • Proven experience in preparing and delivering trainings in Gender.
  • Proven ability to manage dialogue in an intercultural setting and of sensitive material.
  • Proven high communication skills in a clear, precise, and structured way.
  • Proven high efficiency in developing an interactive, engaging, and creative presentations, including PowerPoint presentation.
  • Excellent command of Arabic language and good command of English language.
  • Extensive experience working on the context in Syria and on the Syrian refugee crisis is a must
  • High knowledge of women’s rights issues is an asset
