Women’s Platform to Lead is implementing a project entitled :” Solidarity to combat VAWG” under the «Strengthening the role of feminist CSOs working in the implementing of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda (WPSA)» program which aims at contributing to the effective implementation of the WPSA in Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine through empowering feminist civil society organisations (CSOs) and women-led Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to play a leading role in implementing the WPSA, combating Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) comprehensively and enhancing women’s participation at local, national and regional levels.

The program is implemented by a consortium of five organisations in the four countries: EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI), Women Empowerment Organisation (WEO) in Iraq, Arab Women Organisation (AWO) in Jordan, Association Najdeh (AN) in Lebanon and Palestinian Working Women Society in Development (PWWSD) in Palestine. All are members of EFI, a policy platform that provides expertise in the field of gender equality and women’s rights as inseparable from democracy building and citizenship, and advocates for political solutions to all conflicts, and for the right of peoples to self-determination.

This program is funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) which implements France’s policy on international development and solidarity. Through its financing of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the public sector, as well as its research and publications, AFD supports and accelerates transitions towards a fairer, more resilient world. It also provides training in sustainable development (at AFD Campus) and other awareness-raising activities in France.

 

Women’s Platform to Lead is seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator in Baalbeck-Hermel area:

He/she will be responsible of the coordination of resources, equipment, meetings, and information. He/she organizes the project with the goal of getting them completed on time and within budget.

He/She is responsible for overseeing the overall implementation of the activities that fall under the project. The PM has the following duties:

 

  • Planning and organizing the project: This involves developing project schedules, identifying resources and materials needed, and coordinating with team members to ensure that all tasks are completed on time.
  • Monitoring progress and making adjustments: They are responsible for tracking the progress of activities, identifying any issues that arise, and making necessary adjustments to ensure that the component stays on track.
  • Communicating with stakeholders: the PM is responsible for communicating with stakeholders such as donors, beneficiaries, community leaders, and overall stakeholders to provide updates on the status of projects, address concerns, highlight successes. This includes coordinating with the private sector for job placement as well.
  • Managing budgets and resources: They are responsible for tracking and managing budgets, as well as ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively.
  • Providing support to team members: They are responsible for providing support to team members as needed, including helping to resolve issues and providing guidance on tasks and responsibilities.
  • Data management and control: Ensures all data and documents related to the project are correct, organized, and submitted on a timely manner as the scheduled reporting

 

Other responsibilities

  • Collect all relevant data on participation to training and update skills databases, reports, and other documentation in a timely manner;
  • Lead review meetings with partners, with particular attention given to the relationship aspects of partnership collaboration, and ensure that any issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Organize, attend and participate in stakeholder meetings.
  • Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
  • Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings.
  • Ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Determine project changes.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Undertake project tasks as required.
  • Develop project strategies.
  • Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
  • Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.
  • Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.

Qualifications:

BA in Social Science or any other related field.

5 years of experience in management 

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with team members.

Ability to show positive and collaborative approach toward diversity.

Flexibility and ability to deal with cultural differences.

Fluency in English and Arabic. French is an added value.
