Scope of work

 

The COC facilitators will be trained
to implement the modality with adolescents and youth, as well as parents,
caregivers within the local most vulnerable communities, and co-designing an
exit strategy with local leaders and adolescents and youth involved in
champions of change to ensure sustainability of action. The COC facilitators
will be responsible of the following:

 

  • Establishing a link
    between Common Effort and the local most vulnerable communities.
  • Preparing and
    designing an activity plan in coordination with the Project Coordinator
    adapted to the target group.
  • Delivering and
    facilitating activities and awareness sessions in person and remotely.
  • Collecting and keeping
    record of attendance.
  • Identifying refugees
    with specific needs, providing them with necessary counselling and
    referring them to the existing services.
  • Respecting
    confidentiality of information.
  • Abiding by the code of
    conduct.
  • Being ready for
    flexible working hours if needed.
  • Flexibility to work on
    weekends on exceptional basis.
  • Ensuring that the
    provided material is properly used and kept.

  • Position works with:
    COC Facilitators
    (The Champion of Change modality
    aims to enhance the youth, girls’ and boys’ knowledge and behaviour
    related to gender equality, GBV and SRHR and support adolescent- and
    builds their capacity to drive certain actions), community members
    (Adolescents and youth, parents, and caregivers within the local most
    vulnerable communities).

 

Requirements

 

  • Good knowledge of
    gender concepts and human rights-based approaches.
  • Experience in working
    for gender equality, ending GBV, promoting SRHR, girls’ empowerment and/or
    boys’ engagement.
  • Experience in Capacity
    Building with partners and youth groups.
  • Previous experience in
    facilitating awareness sessions, and other curriculums to girls, boys,
    young women, and men.
  • Basic knowledge of
    national, regional, and international legal frameworks on women’s and
    girls’ rights (e.g., national GBV legislation, CEDAW, etc.)
  • High energy, engaging,
    motivated, interested, and curious. Shows humility and honesty: approaches
    facilitation as a “learner”, rather than an “expert” who imparts knowledge
    to others.
