Cooperatives and MSMEs Training consultant (North – Akkar)
SCOPE OF WORK
- Objective
The main objective of this project is to improve the resilience of individuals, households, communities, and systems in the face of economic and climatic shocks and stressors affecting the food security, nutrition, and well-being of Lebanese and displaced women and men in vulnerable areas.
One of the objectives Fair Trade Lebanon (FTL) is responsible for is strengthening Vulnerable households and farmers with business literacy, market linkages, technical and practical trainings in the Value Chain.
FTL is looking for consultants and expert to conduct training to cooperatives and MSMEs in North – Akkar.
- Training Topics
- Technical and practical training (Purpose of certification, nutrition, packaging/labelling, Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP), Good hygiene practice (GHP) and Good manufacturing practice (GMP).
- Business Development Support (Business planning, digital marketing, marketing, negotiation, stand management, leadership, financial management, entrepreneurship).
- Outcomes
The following outcomes are what the activity aims to achieve within the basic financial literacy, business skills, market linkages, and business development services topics:
- To ensure that trainees know how to set a business plan with SMART targets and how to use accurate financial records and systems.
- To ensure that trainees have knowledge of market access and visibility.
- To ensure that trainees have learned how to reduce cost.
- To ensure that trainees know how to use technology transfer.
- To ensure that trainees know how to manage stock, procurement of inputs, and pricing.
- To ensure that trainees are familiar with alternative financing mechanisms.
The following outcomes are what the activity aims to achieve within the technical and practical topic:
- To ensure that trainees understand the basics of cost-effective agrofood production.
- To ensure that trainees learned new techniques to improve their production.
- To ensure that trainees know the advantages of agrofood technology and digitalization.
- Deliverables
To conduct training sessions
- 24 hours per group of practical training for 4 groups of cooperatives/MSMEs (in total 96 hours).
- 16 hours per group of technical training for 4 groups of cooperatives/MSMEs (in total 64 hours).
- 21 hours per group of business development for 4 groups of cooperatives/MSMEs (in total 84 hours).
A total of 244 hours, therefore 72 days of training.
- Qualifications
- University degree in business, economics, agriculture or related fields
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a trainer.
- Proven knowledge of Fair-Trade principles
- Proven presentation skills
