External Auditor
Job Purpose:
To review the financial information of LADE and reports on findings. The external auditor is responsible for investigating financial statements for errors and fraud, performing audits on operations, and reporting on findings, and providing recommendations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitoring of proper and accurate accounts and insuring proper allocation and completeness of accounting data.
- Ensuring that all accounting transactions are in conformity with the requirements of the Lebanese laws and in coherence with the required tax declarations and requested managerial reports.
- Reviewing of adequacy of provisions whether related to contingencies or other charges (end of service indemnity…)
- Preparing tax declarations (Tax on Salaries, Social Security, …), maintaining audit files.
- Evaluating financial statements and assessing accounts for accuracy and compliance.
- Investigating internal systems and operations.
- Assessing risk management approaches.
- Reporting on errors and fraud.
- Providing feedback reports on findings.
- Performing, and reviewing a financial audit according to ISA (International standards on auditing).
- Advising on any matter related to NSSF, Payroll Tax and Income Tax and providing circular and decree updates regularly by email.
- Providing a minimum of 8 visits to LADE per year.
Deliverables:
- Management Letter points on internal control
- Annual Audit report to be submitted to the management of the organization in both Arabic and English
The service will be performed by (i) an accounting firm, member of an international network, or (ii) an international audit firm, or (iii) a firm of international expertise, or (iv) a local firm experience in the field of the above requirement, applying international auditing standards.
Required skills:
- The audit firm is an independent, external audit firm and a member of a National Organization of Chartered Accountants, which is itself a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
Language Requirement:
- Fluency in written and spoken English, and Arabic. French is an asset.
