ABOUT ABAAD
ABAAD– Resource Center for Gender Equality is a UN ECOSOC accredited organization that aims to achieve gender equality as an essential condition to sustainable social and economic development in the MENA region. ABAAD advocates for the development and implementation of policies and laws that enhance women’s effective participation, through a rights-based approach that would bring about tangible change to gender justice. With the purpose of ending gender-based violence, ABAAD adopts a holistic care approach to provide protection and support services to GBV survivors/right holders during times of peace, war and disasters since 2011.
OVERALL GOAL OF THIS ASSIGNMENT
The project entitled “Makani: Education, Protection, Empowerment, and Community inclusion in Lebanon” aims to enhance educational services, empower caregivers, and support economically vulnerable mothers. The project is targeting mothers of economically vulnerable families with children excluded or at risk of exclusion from school build pathways to economic empowerment and social inclusion and improve their opportunities to access income by focusing on achieving four main results: Livelihood promotion, social protection, social empowerment, and financial inclusion.
The project aims to empower participants by equipping them with technical skills in financial literacy, enabling them to produce a business plan activity. The training will be consisting of 4-5 days, for a group of 10 to 20 women.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and Customize a Training Curriculum
Develop a comprehensive training curriculum addressing both financial literacy and business development for startups. Modules may include foundations of financial literacy, business fundamentals for startups, developing a practical business plan, basic marketing and business growth strategies, pitching and communication skills.
Training Delivery
- Each training cohort will consist of 10–20 participants. The training will be delivered over a continuous period of 5 - 6 days
- Use participatory methods to ensure the training is responsive to participants’ needs.
- Conduct all training sessions using engaging, culturally sensitive, and practical methods.
- Facilitate group discussions, practical exercises, and business plan development activities.
- Logistical Arrangements: If applying as an organization, you will be responsible for booking the venue and providing any necessary materials. This must be reflected in your portfolio and proposal.
Evaluation of Skills Acquired
Conduct a pre-assessment to assess their financial and business knowledge before training, and a post-assessment to measure what participants have learned. The results will help evaluate the training’s impact and guide follow-up support.
Learning Objectives and Expected Outcomes
Financial Literacy: Increase participants’ knowledge of fundamental financial concepts (e.g., budgeting, savings, debt management, and basic costing and pricing)
Business Planning: Enable participants to design and articulate a practical business plan, addressing market analysis, product/service development, pricing, and sustainability.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Experience in financial literacy training, business development, or entrepreneurship training, preferably with vulnerable or women-led groups.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with sensitivity to cultural and gender-related issues.
- Familiarity with local market trends and Familiarity with the challenges faced by economically vulnerable populations

Interested candidates should send an Expression of Interest to careers@abaadmena.org by March 11, 2025mentioning the training title in the email subject line , including:
- CV/portfolio, demonstrating previous experience in the same requested field;
- List of consultancies and similar trainings conducted in the previous years.
Based on the EoI received, pre-selected candidates will be invited for the second phase of evaluation through a tender in which bidders will be asked to submit a detailed technical and financial offer. The technical evaluation will assess the relevance and adequacy of the proposed approach and the expertise of the consultant, ensuring alignment with the assignment’s objectives and requirements. The financial evaluation will review the cost-effectiveness and overall budget feasibility. Both sections must be satisfactorily addressed for a bid to be considered for award.
