IDEALAB- Call for Experts: Body Language and Presentation Skills Clinic

Park Innovation is a mission-driven organization focused on innovation, combining a community project, coworking space, tech hub, and business accelerator to promote community development. With over six years of active engagement, Park Innovation offers unique programs and resources to empower youth and women with an emphasis on entrepreneurship and employability programs. The initiatives at Park Innovation align with its two core pillars:

1- Entrepreneurship, focusing on fostering innovation and empowering startups through tailored support, mentorship, and access to resources that enable sustainable business growth.

2- Employability and Employment, aiming to bridge the gap between education and employment by equipping youth with essential, market-relevant skills and practical experiences to thrive in a competitive workforce.

For the fourth batch in a row, Park Innovation is implementing Idea Lab in South Mount Lebanon, a 10-week entrepreneurship support program being implemented across Lebanon with the aim of providing the proper technical, financial, and business support needed for entrepreneurs to validate their solutions and turn their ideas into businesses. It allows entrepreneurs with Cleantech and Agrifoodtech solutions to learn how to identify their problem, validate their solution in the market, use the 1500 USD to build their first prototype, and create a strong team that has the capacity to take on challenges and scale their startup.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled mentor to guide our startups through the Body Language and Presentation Skills Clinic, providing expert advice and hands-on support as they refine their communication and pitching abilities. The mentor will work closely with startups to enhance their confidence, clarity, and delivery, helping them effectively convey their ideas to investors, partners, and stakeholders. Through practical, feedback-driven sessions, the mentor will help participants master nonverbal communication, storytelling techniques, and audience engagement strategies. The goal is to empower startups with the presentation skills needed to make a lasting impact, ensuring their pitches are compelling, persuasive, and aligned with their business goals.

Scope of Services

The expert will be leading a series of VIRTUAL (online) Pitching Clinics, with one hour dedicated to each startup out of the 10 teams. There will be a total of 10 clinic sessions, one hour for each session exactly.

Key areas to be covered:

• Body Language Fundamentals – Posture, gestures, facial expressions, and eye contact to enhance confidence and credibility.

• Voice Control & Modulation – Tone, pitch, pace, and volume to create engaging and impactful delivery.

• Storytelling & Narrative Building – Structuring presentations with compelling storytelling techniques to capture audience interest.

• Audience Engagement Techniques – Strategies for maintaining attention, handling questions, and adapting to different audiences.

• Overcoming Stage Fright – Practical exercises to manage nervousness and build self-assurance during public speaking.

• Effective Pitching – Structuring startup pitches for clarity, persuasiveness, and investor readiness.

• Use of Visual Aids – Best practices for utilizing slides, props, or demonstrations to support key messages.

• Interactive Feedback & Practice – Hands-on exercises with real-time feedback to refine presentation delivery.

• Train the entrepreneurs and provide them with a handbook on the importance of Body Language to increase their credibility when pitching to prospective investors, the public audience or their customers.

Qualifications and Requirements

This call welcomes applications from independent trainers/consultants or legal entities based in Lebanon.

• A Bachelor's degree in Communications and Media, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Public Speaking, or a related field is required, with preference given to candidates holding a Masters or PhD.

• Demonstrable knowledge of the various fields related to pitching including but not limited to:  Body Language, Public Speaking, Negotiation Skills, Graphic Design…

• A minimum of 3 years+ of relevant experience.

• Experience in guiding startups to refine and deliver compelling pitches, presenting in a clear and attractive manner, and mastering the art of public speaking and body language.

• The expert should have a track record of helping startups structure their pitches to clearly communicate their revenue models, demonstrate their business’s long-term viability, and assess ways to enhance the pitch for maximum impact. 

• Background in AgrifoodTech/Agriculture, or Clean Energy startups is a plus.

• Strong communication skills in English and Arabic, with an engaging and interactive training style.

Expected Deliverables

The selected expert will be responsible for the delivery of the 10 clinics, and providing a clear guidance on how they can present in a confident yet captivating way.

Assistance with mastering the art of pitching to investors, the public, or incubators through constructive criticism on how to deliver an effective pitch.

The mentor must complete a feedback form for each startup, after the clinics, detailing their observations and assessments on their pitch preparedness and communication abilities, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, with actionable recommendations for improvement.

The expert shall be ready for an oral briefing about the startups right after the sprint to highlight all strengths and areas of improvement to the IdeaLab program manager.

Furthermore, the mentor is required to adhere to the relevant procurement procedures (quotation, signature of a service agreement, invoice, receipt, MOF certificate and/or ID/Passport, programmatic deliverables).
