RLS is working in Lebanon since 2017. The Beirut office currently works within Lebanon and Iraq as its main countries of cooperation (in close cooperation with local partner institutions, groups, and individuals on site) and cooperates with partners from Syria in the diaspora. RLS also analyzes developments in Iran.

Scope of Work: The Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung seeks an experienced social media expert for our work in Kurdistan Region (Iraq) to document, produce and edit audio-visual data during and post fieldwork visits. Produce professional content, podcasts and reels from selected audio interviews and activities, and manage and make regular weekly/biweekly social media posts from our work and activities in Kurdistan, Baghdad and surrounding areas.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in social media management, preferably in a non-profit or political context or/and in the fields of food sovereignty
  • Strong expertise in using  social media platforms (e.g., Instagram and, YouTube)
  • Ability to create engaging and relevant content, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
  • Experience in developing and implementing social media strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Being able to respond effectively to public interactions.
  • Ability to handle social media crises
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Kurdish, English and Arabic
  • Ability to work closely with cross functional teams
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in social media
  • Experience in social media content creation and audio-video design and editing from raw visual data.

 

Framework of assignment:

  • The candidate should be able to work upon demand to prepare materials and posts for publication and complete the required tasks from 1 September 2024 and 1 of September 2025, for a period of one year.

 

Deliverables:

The applicant is required to submit the following:

Proposal Evaluation

The candidate will be evaluated according to RLS regulations and criteria. Proposals will be scored based on the following criteria:

  • Social Media Experience (40%)
  • Expertise concerning food sovereignty, farming or related field (20%)
  • Content and visual experience (40%)

Payment:

The candidate will be compensated with a rate of 15$ to $20 per hour depending on the experience and background, for assigned part time work for maximum 5 to 10 hours a week, for a period of one year.
