Anti-Racism Movement (ARM) is a non-governmental organization working to dismantle systemic racism and achieve social, economic, and gender justice for migrant workers and racialized groups in Lebanon since 2011. Migrant Community Center (MCC) is a safer space for migrants living under Kafala. MCC works with migrant domestic workers to improve their living and working conditions and build their capacities to self-advocate for their rights as agents and leaders of change. Its programs include community-building, capacity-building, psychosocial wellbeing, community-led initiatives, and advocacy.

Position: Accounting Officer

Job Purpose
The Accounting Officer handles accounting bookkeeping, analyzes financial information, prepares budgets, donor reports and financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.
Areas of Contribution & Related Accountabilities
Accounting & Finance
The jobholder's responsibilities in this area include but are not limited to the following:
- Daily bookkeeping for accounting transactions
- Daily filing for accounting transactions and donor grants
- Assigning accounting entries to proper accounts and budget
- Preparing, examining, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, or other financial and donors reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
- Handling cash payments and cash reconciliation with managers and relevant teams
- Reviewing petty cash documentation for validation purposes
- Preparing payroll transfers based on the payroll report approved by the Accounting Manager
- Developing, implementing and modifying record keeping as deemed necessary
- Preparing cash reconciliation, bank and supplier reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis
- Developing, maintaining, and analyzing budgets, preparing periodic reports to manager comparing budgeted costs to actual costs
- Check Budget Versus Actual (BVA) reports on a monthly basis for expense tracking & reclassification in grants
- Reviewing and checking all transactions are in compliance with donors and ARM requirements
- Preparing cash flow and checking incoming/outcoming transfers
- Producing timely and regular balance sheet accounts reconciliation
- Preparing donor financial reports
- Ensuring the proper roll-out of financial policies and procedures and capacity building to staff and managers
- Preparing for and support with all audit processes (meeting with auditors, samples, attending audit task force meetings)
- Preparing all the documents required for audit and donors inspections
- Staying informed about all new rules, procedures and technologies introduced to accounting in addition to new legislations set by ministry of finance
- Supporting fiscal and legal matters including preparing and follow up on annual government needed audits with the lawyer, ministries and others
- Preparing and updating grants/budget and all documents required
- Performing certain administrative duties as requested by Accounting Manager
- Handling Accounting & Administrative Assistant tasks during all leaves of absence
- Supporting other team members when needed
Framework, Boundaries, and Decision Making Authority
Jobholder is responsible for making operational decisions as per ARM's decision-making process, whilst tactical and strategic decisions should be referred to the Accounting Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/ Accounting or related fields, Master’s Degree is a plus
- Experience: 4-6 years
- Languages: Excellent command of English & Arabic
- Expert Microsoft Office Skills
- Excellent organizational & time management skills
- Detail-oriented, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Positive attitude and ability to be flexible in an evolving organization
- Team-oriented
