ALEF – Act for Human Rights is a Lebanese non-profit, non-partisan human rights watchdog organization that works on documenting, and promoting human rights violations and values in Lebanon. 

Vision: 
A sustainable socio-political order, wherein the intrinsic value of every human being is respected by duty bearers and upheld in policy agendas

Mission:
ALEF seeks to strengthen the respect and fulfillment of human rights as a cornerstone of social, economic, and political development. By embracing a comprehensive approach to monitor, defend, and educate on human rights, ALEF aims to complement and gear all efforts towards the achievement of an influential human rights constituency, and the realization of a durable peace.

The multiple crisis facing Lebanon right now is igniting new waves of migration amongst Syrian refugees and vulnerable members of the host community, who are seeking to flee the dire economic conditions and the protection risks associated with it. Residents, including Syrians, Lebanese, and other migrant workers were repeatedly reported to have left the shores of Tripoli in an attempt to reach Cyprus. As the country sinks further into collapse, this research is timely as there is little data about the topic, and the protection risks for those deciding or contemplating migrating are growing

ALEF is looking for part time Project Assistant to support its research and monitoring department.
The Project Assistant will be in charge of monitoring and documenting Human Rights abuses throughout Lebanon. Based on identifying, reporting, writing notes and submitting cleaned and organized data and trends, the Project Assistant will provide the Project Coordinator with the necessary information to feed into ALEF’s reports, analysis and advocacy.
