ALEF – Act for Human Rights is a Lebanese non-profit, non-partisan human rights watchdog organization that works on documenting, and promoting human rights violations and values in Lebanon. 

Vision: 
A sustainable socio-political order, wherein the intrinsic value of every human being is respected by duty bearers and upheld in policy agendas

Mission:
ALEF seeks to strengthen the respect and fulfillment of human rights as a cornerstone of social, economic, and political development. By embracing a comprehensive approach to monitor, defend, and educate on human rights, ALEF aims to complement and gear all efforts towards the achievement of an influential human rights constituency, and the realization of a durable peace.

The position reports to the Desk Manager. If the role for Desk Manager is vacant, the position will be under the supervision of the Programs Manager. ALEF is looking for a trainer to deliver a series of 5 training sessions on topics related to criminal justice reform and institutional violence towards children between June and October 2024. The sessions are expected to develop the capacities of relevant duty-bearers in Lebanon in protecting child victims of institutional violence, with a focus on engagement with UN treaty bodies, rights of children in conflict with the law, torture prevention, and fair trial. This consultancy will be contracted and undertaken under the supervision of ALEF – act for human rights.
