Media Training for Activists

The Gender and Body rights Media Center (GAB Media Center) at the Arab Foundation for Freedoms and Equality (AFE) opens the call for applications to its “Media training for activists”. This training aims at increasing the capacity of interaction and awareness of gender rights activists regarding the local media, creation of media content and delivering human rights messages.

Participants will be trained on storytelling, creation of content, campaigning, public speaking and public opinion shaping.

The program requires that applicants have the following criteria:

- Applicants should be residing in Lebanon. Activists who live outside Beirut are strongly encouraged to apply.

- Applicants should have been involved (work, volunteer, internship) in a human rights organization advocating for sexual/gender/bodily rights, LGBT rights or women rights.

- Applicants should be fluent in Arabic (spoken and written).

- Applicants should be willing to be visible and interact openly with the local media.

- Applicants should be available to attend 4 days of training between February (15^th and 16^th) and March (exact dates to be communicated later).

After completing the second training, participants will pitch stories to produce on topics related to gender and sexuality.

The best 5 topics will be chosen to be funded by AFE and published on AFE platforms.

Activists whose stories were selected will receive a 700 USD grant each to produce their story.

يفتح المركز الإعلامي للجندر والحقوق الجسدية (Gender and Body rights Media Center) في المؤسسة العربية للحريات والمساواة باب التقديم للمشاركة في "التدريب الإعلامي للناشطين/ات الحقوقيين/ات". يهدف هذا التدريب إلى زيادة التفاعل والوعي لى الناشطين/ات في مجال الحقوق الجندرية فيما يتعلق بوسائل الإعلام المحلية، وخلق محتوى إعلامي وإيصال رسائل متعلّقة بحقوق الإنسان.

 سيستفيد المشتركون/ات من جلسات تدريبية حول كتابة/اخبار القصص، خلق المحتوى، تقنيات الخطابة، تصميم وتنفيذ الحملات والتأثير بالرأي العام.

 شروط التقديم للمشاركة في البرنامج:

- أن يكون/تكون مقدم/ة طلب المشاركة مقيم/ة في لبنان. يشجّع البرنامج الناشطين/ات الذين/اللواتي يقيمون/ن خارج بيروت على التقديم.

- أن يكون/تكون مقدم/ة طلب المشاركة لديه/ها خبرة بالعمل مع منظمات حقوق الإنسان (عمل، تطوّع أو تدريب) وخبرة بالمشاركة في نشاطات متعلّقة بالحقوق الجنسية/الجندرية والجنسانية/الجسدية، حقوق مجتمع الميم أو حقوق المرأة.

- أن يكون/تكون مقدم/ة طلب المشاركة يتحدّث/تتحدث اللغة العربية بطلاقة.

- أن يكون/تكون مقدم/ة طلب المشاركة لديه/ها الرغبة والنية في الظهور العلني والتفاعل مع وسائل الإعلام المحلية.

- أن يكون/تكون مقدم/ة طلب المشاركة لديه/ها الوقت للمشاركة في تدريب لمدة يومين في 15 و16 شباط/فبراير2019 و ورشة عمل أخرى لمدة يومين في أذار/مارس (يحدد الموعد لاحقاً).

بعد الانتهاء من التدريب الثاني، سيقترح المشاركون/ات قصصًا لإنتاج بمواضيع تتعلق بالنوع الاجتماعي والجندر.

سيتم اختيار أفضل 5 مواضيع ليتم تمويلها من قبل AFE ونشرها على منصات المؤسسة.

سيخصص مبلغ 700 دولار أميركي لكل من الناشطين/ات الحقوقيين/ات الذين تم اختيار مقترحاتهم.
