MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Contribute to Strategy Development & Provide Technical Support

10%

Provide quality assurance that FinD models of work are implemented to the highest standard and according to WVL’s Strategy

Ensure FinD is included in assessments to identify a robust FinD programme. Lead sector-specific assessments as required to inform programming.

Coordinate with other sectors to ensure FinD mainstreaming when possible

Lead capacity assessments of WV staff and plan a training program /calendar to address needs. Utilize external capacity building opportunities, as well as WV-internal resources.

Support Implementation, Monitoring and Reporting

35%

Conduct periodical meetings for teams working on projects with FinD components, sharing lessons learned, experiences, observations, obstacles and reviewing and updating any projects plans of actions.

Provide opportunities for capacity building in consultation with Human Resources department and the CP&A Technical Lead to ensure proper technical, managerial and personal development.

Collaborate with the MEAL department and Area Managers / Programme Managers to build evidence of the spiritual wellbeing of children as a direct outcome of FinD project models.

Know grant/donors regulations in relation to FinD and build the capacity of the team in this respect.

Lead the reporting on the OSR, Strategic Imperative 5 (SI5), and WVL Strategy (incl. input into the Impact Report).

Review and contribute to appropriate donor reporting that meets WV expectations and donor requirements.

Ensure staff compliance with World Vision’s FinD policies and standards.

Contribute to Proposal Development

Support GAM and Program Managers with technical and expert advice when communicating with donors and communities respectively.

Liaise with international and local NGOs and government authorities to influence and scale evidence based practices in FinD

Assist in identifying opportunities where WV’s expertise in FinD fits into specific donor strategies

Meet donors to preposition for new program ideas and models based on evidence.

In collaboration with GAM, technically lead FinD components during drafting of new proposals and Technical Projects, ensuring it matches with program objectives and donors requirements.

Ensure that FinD programme learning from assessment, evaluations and research is included into new designs.

Provide input into budget of technical components within new proposals.

Contribute to Quality FinD Program Implementation and Sustainability

Provide sector leadership for timely and appropriate delivery of FinD activities.

Conduct field spot checks on bi-monthly basis to monitor progress of projects and discuss challenges with field teams and to ensure field alignment to FinD requirements.

Intervene, when necessary, at procurement level, to facilitate/find solutions to material purchase difficulties or delays that are affecting the program quality implementation.

Ensure FinD projects’ budgets, projects’ funding, expenditures and accomplishments of ministry objectives are accurately planned and costed

Ensure technical quality (based on industry and WV standards) of project progress reports, and other information as required, for support offices and donors.

Coordinate/Work with the MEAL Team to monitor/evaluate the progress and systems of projects, to ensure that projects provide responses on all audit reports and findings.

Review tools used by MEAL for FinD projects ensuring we are measuring the right things, at the right intervals, so that we can with confidence present conclusive evidence of change.

Participate and review projects evaluations in close coordination with the internal and/or external evaluator.

Ascertain Public Relations, Networking and Partnering

Develop partnerships with faith based organizations and liaise with leaders of different faiths in Lebanon to get involved in social change/development issues

Work to build positive relationships with communities of other faiths and affirm the role of these organizations that also seek to support the well-being of children and especially in areas of child protection

Manage, coordinate, and actively participate with local partners and NGOs, UN agencies and different donors and community representatives and stakeholders.

Actively engage with relevant ministries and stakeholders using evidence from our programming to drive policy formulation and system reform

Mobilize the church and faith actors to support policy and legislative reforms that better protect children and improves their wellbeing.

Support the church and faith actors in their social missions, in particular in support of It Takes a World to End Violence Against Children Campaign

Coordinate with other relevant internal stakeholders at WV, whether at the Regional or Global level.

Contribute to the Spiritual Nurture of Staff

Be an active member of the Reflection Committee

Support in organizing the Annual Day of Prayer as needed

Perform other duties as required

Attend trainings locally and internationally as required.

Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Bachelor’s degree relevant to socialscience, theology, development, public relations. Masters degree is preferred.
  2. 3-5 years of professional experience in relief and/or development field working with local or international NGOs.
  3. Demonstrated project management skills in working collaboratively with local partners, donors, and international organizations
  4. Understanding of development processes and ability to translate technical language into language that is easily understandable by various partners and donors
  5. Strong interpersonal and communications skills and networking abilities
  6. Able to oversee and manage budgets
  7. Experience of working with churches and/or FBOs
  8. Experience in project management
  9. Understanding of the Church diversity and specifics of the different theological frameworks and ability to navigate a complex faith context like the one in Lebanon
  10. Ability to manage and negotiate expectations of the diverse stakeholders
  11. Manage and support partnerships and projects in a transparent manner towards all the partners and honor partnering commitments and show openness for critical feedback
  12. Effective in written and oral communication
  13. Ability to speak and write with a high standard of English
  14. Fluency in Arabic
  15. Computer literacy; good computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as database management
  16. Understanding of the intercultural & interfaith relations, religious diversity in the local context and programs; understanding of negotiation and conflict resolution
  17. Ability to mobilize local faith leaders and faith communities and FBOs to address CWB issues
  18. Experience in both relief and development
