The project aims to enhance climate-resilient livelihoods in Akkar through sustainable water management and agricultural enhancement. A key component is the development of an irrigation infrastructure system that collects water from Al Kabir River via HDPE pipelines and directs it to two concrete water tanks located in different areas. As of the end of April 2012, the number of Syrian families displaced in the Bekaa has increased to 2,800 households. Families registered with local partners receive kits of dry food, but they have requested more variety and choice in food items.
