The Opportunity 

The Food Security and Livelihoods Assistant is part of the FSL team in the North office and will be supporting in the delivery and the monitoring of food security and livelihoods projects in Akkar and the North of Lebanon. 

The projects include but are not limited to competency-based trainings, vocational trainings, youth functional skills, cash for work and on the job training, entrepreneurship trainings for youth and adults, small business development, financial literacy, cash provision, and life skills and vocational trainings for youth. 

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Finance, International Relations, Social Sciences, Development studies or similar field
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in humanitarian and development programs, preferably working in food security, cash, and livelihoods, and with experience in vocational, entrepreneurship and youth skills activities.
  • Experience in data monitoring and validation. 
  • Experience in field work and community mobilization; and in coaching on working with Syrian, Palestinian, and Lebanese communities in specific. 
  • In-depth knowledge of competency-based training, vocational training, cash-for-work programs, and on-the-job training, with an emphasis on practical implementation and effectiveness.
  • Strong understanding of entrepreneurship activities, financial literacy, life skills education, cash and voucher programming, emergency programming, and food security and livelihoods. 
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
