Description: 

Women’s Programs Association announces the need for 1 Community Volunteer. To work within the project: “Enhancing inclusive education through a multi-sectoral, area-based intervention targeting 3892 children, caregivers and community members in 4 Palestinian camps.”
The project is implemented in partnership with TDH-ITALY - Funded by OCHA.

  • Duty Station/Location: Naher Bared Camp
  • Age: Between 24 and 30 years’ old
  • Reports to: Center Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Help in developing and implementing recreational and psychosocial activities appropriate for children and adolescents in their community.
  • Assist in providing specific skill-building activities with adolescents, including life skills and community projects, etc.
  • Ensure the participation of all beneficiaries in activities, taking in consideration age and gender.
  • Submit feedback to the organization's coordination officer regarding the types of activities to be developed for children and adolescents in the local community.
  • Actively participate in the trainings provided by the organization.
  • Identify children at risk and refer them to the organization's coordination officer in accordance with the procedures in place.
  • Ensure that children feel safe, comfortable, and respected during activities.
  • Ensure that activities take place in a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment.
  • Ensure that the necessary materials are used appropriately and stored safely at the end of the day.
  • Respect and adhere to the organization's internal regulations and child protection policy.
  • Collect attendance of participants in activities and submit reports as needed.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel and Word programs and data entry.
  • Participate in distribution at the field or school level.
  • Volunteers will be part of the educational activity in the field.
  • Other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic languages
  • Ability and experience in using the main computer programs (word, PowerPoint, excel) and emails, social networks, and multimedia educational content creation (such as educational videos)

  • Good communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deliver information to different age groups.
  • Excellent team player.
