Social Relief And Welfare Association - Al Moasat

 Social Relief and Welfare Association also known as Al Moasat is a non-profit association in charge of charity, culture, social activities, health, education, productivity and training workshops that deal with community service. Currently, it has 125 employees, mostly women who are heads of their households. The association started in the 1960’s through a Free Clinic founded by young people from Saida. Its aim was to serve the community in Saida and its neighborhood.

 

 Mission

 Our mission is to ensure decent services and support for the underprivileged member of the community without any discrimination.

 Goals

 Al Moasat aims to serve the people of the city of Saida and its neighboring villages/towns in four main key areas; Education, Vocational Training, Health Services and Social Assistance by providing job opportunities and education for youth – particularly orphans and those with special needs – in cooperation and coordination with the various associations and institutions inside Lebanon and abroad.  

 

 

 Al Moasat consists today of four different departments;

 

  1. Department of Education 

 

 “In these departments orphans and underprivileged students are supported and educated totally or partially for free”

 

  • Sidon Technical Institute for Young Women:

 

 It’s considered as one of its largest departments. It provides certificates for BP (Professional Brevet), BT (Technical Baccalaureate) and TS (Superior Technician) in addition to intensive courses in different majors.

 

  • Special Education Department:

 

 Al Moasat has developed a 6 years program for young with special needs who have learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities such as Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, ADHD etc…)

 The program includes: training and technical studies, treatment programs, summer activities and sports, periodical practical training.

 

  • Moasat Tutoring Center:

 

  Provides special and additional tutoring services for students that might need assistance in their homework,

 

  • Day care Department:

 

  This Department receives children aged between 40 days and four years.

  It provides:

  • Special health and psychological care for the children with special needs
  • Periodical medical examination.

      -  Customized social and educational programs.

      -  Summer activities.  
 

 

  1. Department of Health:

 

  • Dr. Nazih Bizri Health Centre:

 

 The Dr. Nazih Bizri Health Center is a "Certified Center for Primary Health Care" by the Ministry of Public Health.  Each year around 10000 patients from the area of Saida and its neighborhood benefit from its services which are either free or partly free of charge.

 The Center Specialties are diversified, the Medical Center participates in Health Campaigns according to the global Medical Calendar (exp: world Diabetes Day, World Day of Breast Cancer, National vaccination campaign, etc…)

 

 

  1. Productive Departments:

 

 “These are the income generating sections that finance the charitable activities of the association”

 

  • Al Moasat Catering Department:

 

 It is the most dynamic and vital productive section in the Association. It provides and delivers Lebanese and International Cuisine. It delivers to all the Lebanese territories. It provides all occasions’ supplies including; tableware, tables, chairs, tablecloths.

 The Catering follows high standards of hygiene and safety.

 

  • Sidon Sewing factory:

 

  It consists of the following sections:

  - Household linens, curtains, upholstery, blankets and embroidery.

  - Design and sewing of clothes and accessories for folk events.

  - Restoration and repairs of all clothing and household linens

  - Uniforms for schools, hospitals, restaurants, hotels and orphanages.  

 

 

  • Al Moasat Beauty Center: 

 

  The Beauty Center offers beauty and esthetic services under specialists’ supervision;

   It also includes a beauty educational academy.

 

 

  1. Projects department:

 

 The projects department is a very active section at Al Moasat association, it has three different components:

1- Humanitarian services

2- Livelihood trainings

3- Child protection- Gender-Based Violence and social activities
