Project description:

Plastic Buster Cap tackles one of the world's biggest challenges, especially in the Mediterranean Sea: "Marine Litter".

The project will help enhance and transfer knowledge, experience, and best practice tools that address the entire management cycle of marine litter, from monitoring and assessment to prevention and mitigation, towards an integrated and strategic approach that couples Ecosystem-Based Management and Integrated Coastal Zone Management into local development planning.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PROJECT MANAGER:

  • The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for implementing Plastic Buster CAP activities in TCNR coastal zone. 
  • The PM will ensure that all the project’s Work Packages (WP) are implemented with efficacy and in a scientific way, and agreement and the quality standards of ENI CBC MED program
  • The PM will be expected to promptly identify issues and risks related to project implementation and suggest appropriate solutions and adjustments.
  • The PM should attend all the meetings, especially the project’s Steering Committee Meetings (SCMs)
  • The PM should be responsible of the project reporting and archiving on the MIS platform.
  • The PM should be present (2-3 days) at the TCNR office to guarantee the excellent management of the Project.
  • The PM should collaborate with the support team of the Lead Beneficiary of the project (University of Siena, Italy) for budget management/monitoring/reporting, procurement and human resources follow-up.
  • The PM should be in usual contact with the lead representative of the Project in TCNR, and update him on the ongoing Project.
  • The PM should ensure a good coordination between the Project team (Communication and Financial officer, and the External experts if needed)

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

 

  • Coordination, Communication, and Organizational skills.
  • Good Project Cycle Management and Team Management skills
  • Previous experience with managing multi-disciplinary projects (especially within the Tyre Area, as an advantage), with at least 2-years of work experience with international organizations and NGOs. Accordingly, reports and fieldwork experience should be well presented in the CV.  
  • Fluent in English, French, and Arabic (Priority for English and Arabic), both spoken and written.
