Objective of the Role:

The Programs Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and managing diverse projects under the 3 main pillars: protection, livelihoods, and education sectors. This position requires a dynamic individual with a strategic mindset, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams. He/She will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from planning to implementation, ensuring effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management:

    • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs in the protection, livelihoods, and education sectors.
    • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.

Stakeholder Communication:

    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, partners, and community representatives.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather input for program design and implementation.
    • Ensure transparent and regular communication regarding project updates, challenges, and successes.

Strategic Planning:

    • Contribute to the development of organizational strategies and annual plans.
    • Provide strategic direction to program teams, aligning projects with the NGO's mission and vision.
    • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within existing programs.

Team Leadership and Motivation:

    • Lead and motivate the team across various sectors.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture that values creativity, diversity, and inclusivity.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to staff, promoting professional development.

Reporting and Documentation:

    • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of project reports.
    • Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation system to track program impact.
    • Collaborate with the communications team to share program successes and lessons learned.

Representation, Proposal Writing & Fundraising:

  • Enhance Borderless image by acting as Borderless primary spokesperson to increase the overall visibility of the organization.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with existing donors.
  • Develop and adopt new strategies to identify and attract new donors as well as raise money while reflecting the ideals of Borderless.
  • Lead, develop, and implement fundraising strategies to engage with potential donors.
  • Responsible for leading the proposal writing department which will consist of: Project Coordinators, MEAL Officer, CP Officer, EDU Officer, with the assistance of Procurement & Finance officers.
  • Adopt marketing strategies that support attracting new donors.
  • Prepare funding proposals to attract new donors and maintain existing one.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Degree in International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in program management within the NGO or humanitarian sector, with expertise in protection, livelihoods, and education.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
