Terms of Reference (ToR) for a Service Provider for a Drama Club for Children Focusing on Child Rights

1. Background

The drama club aims to use the performing arts as a tool to educate children about their rights, foster self-expression, and build confidence. This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to promote awareness of child rights and provide a safe, supportive environment for children to explore these important topics.

2. Objectives

The main objectives of the drama club are:

  • To educate children about their rights in an engaging and interactive manner.
  • To develop the creative and performance skills of participants.
  • To promote confidence, teamwork, and communication among children.
  • To create a platform for children to express their thoughts and experiences related to child rights.
  • To foster a supportive community where children feel valued and heard.

3. Scope of Work

The successful service provider shall be responsible for delivering the following to a high quality standard:

  • Design a comprehensive drama program that incorporates child rights themes suitable for children aged (6-11) age group and (12-17) age group and diverse skill levels through a variety of activities, and rehearsals
  • Conducting a curriculum consisting of 8 sessions in accordance with the drama club program validated by SIF.
  • Conduct one final event for participants in a form of a play or sketch particularly focusing on child rights
  • Provide all necessary materials and tools for the drama activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during the sessions.
  • Encourage participation and fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Ensure the collection of monitoring information in accordance with SIF M&E tools.
  • Produce a report at the end of the program highlighting lessons learnt and recommendations.

4. Deliverables

The service provider is expected to deliver the following:

  • A detailed program plan outlining the schedule, activities, and materials required.
  • Regular progress reports on the participation and engagement of club members.
  • An evaluation report at the end of the contract period, including feedback from participants and recommendations for future improvements.
  • At least one public performance showcasing the work of the drama club, focused on child rights themes.

5. Duration

The contract will be for a maximum of 3 months period.

6. Qualifications and Experience

The service provider should have:

  • Proven experience in drama education or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.

 7. Submission

  • Financial offer stating the amount needed per session (without the cost of equipment which will be covered by SIF) noting that the trainer will be delivering 16 sessions and 2 events for the two age groups mentioned above.

8. Location

  • Sessions will be conducted in SDC Tarik Jdidi
