About the Program:
LLWB, in partnership with GIZ, is conducting a program entitled “EBDA3” “Energy Efficiency for businesswomen and digitalization awareness”, aiming to provide comprehensive support in specific energy and business developments topics to 25 women-led MSMEs in two regions: Southern Baalbek and Hasbaya, Lebanon.
This program catalyzes the efforts of LLWB and its strong commitment in implementing the SDGs. First this program aims to ensure access to reliable, affordable and clean energy solutions for MSMEs that are localized in 2 regions of Lebanon, as it has a specific goal which is the energy sufficiency for women led businesses and entrepreneurs. In this regard in 2024, LLWB has in a first phase performed a needs assessment of the energy needs and capacities of each of the MSMEs of these regions. Based on it, trainings on energy efficiency tailored to the needs to each MSMEs were performed during the months of July and August 2024. This program has secondly a clear goal of promoting sustainable business solutions for MSMEs in time of crises, for them to be able to scale up their work, stay productive and resilient and sustain in regions that are unstable and unsafe due to the political instability. Gender equality is mainstreamed in this project as it empowers women in their communities and make them more self-sufficient and push them to be breadwinners.
Based on the needs assessment performed, and on the training, sessions tailored for each MSMEs, before the war started to spread, each MSME has developed a clear business plan. With the new realities at hand, and the new context situation, LLWB is looking to recruit an individual trainer to mentor these Women-led MSMEs to manage the impact of war, destruction and cease of operations for some of them and ensure their businesses sustainability. The trainer will have to train the MSMEs to restart their businesses and recover after crises.
Scope of Training
LLWB is calling for: One individual Trainer to conduct presence group training in Bekaa area, for 25 MSMEs from Hasbaya and Southern Baalbeck.
- The trainer will have to conduct 2 full days of group training, in collaboration with another individual trainer.
- The trainer will develop in collaboration with another individual trainer, one first day training for 25 MSMEs to respond to crisis-resilient mindset, learn actionable financial recovery and continuity techniques, and explore methods to pivot their business strategies in response to the impact of war and the shifting market demands.
- After the group training, the trainer in collaboration with another individual trainer, will have to support 12 MSMEs in Baalback and 13 Hasbaya in one-to-one sessions, tailored to their specific needs and context.
- The Trainer will then have to conduct a one full day in presence training to all the group of the 25 MSMEs to collect findings from the first group sessions and from the one-on-one sessions and develop with the MSMEs recommendations aiming for them to restart their business.
Specific tasks include:
- Two full days training sessions in Bekaa
- Focused on cultivating resilience, ensuring financial continuity, and fostering strategic innovation from a contextual approach. Discussions on resource prioritization, cost management, revenue generation in difficult times, and adaptive operational strategies.
- Each session will combine theory with practical exercises tailored to respond to crisis situations in MSMEs.
- One-on-One coaching sessions:
- Each MSME will receive a customized coaching session to address specific challenges, design an action plan, and implement the discussed strategies within their own business context. The sessions will cover strategic planning tools, scenario analysis, and guidance on leveraging in-kind support as part of crisis recovery.
- Develop in English and In Arabic Language, a comprehensive final report and action plan for each MSME:
- The final report in English and In Arabic will outline a tailored crisis management strategy developed for each SME, including financial, operational, and strategic recommendations.
- The Recommendations should be short term, medium term and long term, and outline immediate steps for ensuring continuity, allocating resources, and adapting to Lebanese market demands.
- Specify targeted in-kind resources, tools, and services for each MSME, focused on immediate resilience and long-term stability. Outline how these assets will be allocated and utilized to strengthen financial and operational sustainability in response to market demands.
Timeline:
The assignment is expected to take place during the months of, January and February 2025 (in present/online training sessions).
Qualifications:
- The ideal individual training candidate should possess:
- Proven experience in business management coaching.
- Strong background in business practices.
- Excellent public speaking abilities in Arabic.
- Strong experience in working on monitoring evaluating and coaching MSMEs in peripheral regions of Lebanon.
- Crises management skills
- Strong Collaboration skills on developing training materials, coaching materials and realistic business action plans
Deliverables:
- Conducting Two group training sessions in collaboration with another selected trainer by LLWB: Focused on cultivating resilience, ensuring financial continuity, and fostering strategic innovation, combining theory with practical exercises tailored to SMEs.
- Conducting One-on-One training sessions: Customized tailored sessions addressing specific challenges, strategic planning, scenario analysis, and leveraging in-kind support for nano and MSMEs
- Submitting Comprehensive report: Detailed financial, operational, and strategic recommendations tailored to each MSME.
- Developing Action plan for continuity and adaptation: Clear and actionable steps for ensuring operational continuity, resource allocation, and market adaptation.
- Preparing In-Kind support allocation: Targeted resources, tools, and services to enhance immediate resilience and ensure long-term stability.

- A cover letter outlining relevant experience and qualifications and clearly committing to implementing the in presence 2 days training sessions and one to one coaching sessions in the timeframe available. In PDF
- A financial proposal including the daily rate per day for the 2 days training and per tailored session in USD dollars for developing the above-mentioned deliverables, in PDF. Title of Document should be Financial Proposal for Training on Business management in times of crises in Hasbaya and Southern Baalbek. The lump sum should cover all means (including taxes and transportation)
- Copy of passports or IDs and Lebanese financial registration documents. Note: Failing to provide these documents will lead to a deduction of the withholding tax (8.5%) as per the Lebanese Law.
