Forum Civil Peace Service, Forum Ziviler Friedensdienst e. V. (forumZFD e.V.), is a German NGO, established in 1996 with a mission to push for the "realisation of the idea of a Civilian Peace Service". forumZFD is a non-partisan organisation and currently works in the Western Balkans, Israel/Palestine, Lebanon, the Philippines, Cambodia and Ukraine.
In Lebanon, forumZFD has been working since 2009.The 15 staff members are working in three different program areas: Capacity Delevopment, Community Mobilising and Dealing with the Past. Together with its partners, forumZFD jointly develops local capacities within civil society and supports their projects for non-violent conflict transformation.
Besides forumZFD, the other organisation within the Civil Peace Service (CPS) Group active in Lebanon is the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). The GIZ-CPS also implements projects in the framework of the Civil Peace Service in Lebanon. Both organisations have agreed on a joint strategy to coordinate their efforts.
