Mentorship sessions for 10 women in universities getting prepared to be on boards.
About the Program:
LLWB, in partnership with UK embassy Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) is leading on a project that aims to facilitate and increase female representation on the boards of organisations, syndicates, and universities, promoting Leadership and Management.
In this program LLWB has conducted participatory gender audits of 2 academic institutions. And is now in the phase of developing the gender action plans of the institutions These activities, will lead to another phase in the project which is offering participation in the “scale up training” to 30 women of each academic institution. The trainings organised by LLWB aim to cover various topics preparing women to be on Boards of institutions, associations and or businesses, and understand the main discrimination faced by women.
The project will also, mentor 5 selected women from these two academic institutions to be members of boards as per LLWB flagship journey of supporting women in boards of institutions.
The project will also support selected women from each institution to have a well-known certificate in board diversity and board directors' program.
Scope of Consultancy:
LLWB is seeking a qualified short-term mentor to conduct mentorship sessions for women from 2 academic institutions in Lebanon. The MENTOR is expected to give a total of 10 sessions for 2 selected women, the mentorship sessions could be led online as per the situation permits it in Lebanon.
- The profile of the women participating in those sessions are medium to high-level employees, experts, professors, assistant professors, Dr. and staff from the 2 well known universities from Lebanon LAU and AOU.
- The mentor should develop and prospect 5 sessions with each woman about their future decision-making roles.
- The mentorship sessions need to be mix of focused training and one on one tailored coaching and mentorship between the women participating and the mentor. The objective of the mentorship is primarily to support these women run for decision-making positions. The mentorship will also cover a multidisciplinary scope of issues, from good governance to financial statements, to KPIs.
RequiredQualifications:
- Applicants must hold a degree in business, social sciences, Law, socio-economic sciences, gender studies, or any other relevant field. The following qualifications are required;
- At least five years of work experience in conducting training, one on one interview, assessments, and mentorships sessions.
- Great communication skills in Arabic and English
- Relevant experience with NGOs and universities, and private firms in the arenas of organizational development, raising safeguarding and governance and accountability standards.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is necessary.
- LLWB will select the mentor for the assignment, considering the proposal submitted by the applicant, experience, and availability.
Deliverables:
The mentor will review each participant's CV, assess their individual needs, and provide guidance to prepare them for onboarding.
- Conduct 5 online sessions of 1-2 hours each with each of the 2 selected women.
- A one paragraph covering the activity that was held, and the training organized with pictures and quotes from participants to be used on social media and the website.
- With this call for proposal, LLWB requests interested individual experts to express their interest and send a cover letter with clear commitment to conducting the sessions during the allocated time, the expert needs to send a financial proposal covering all the above deliverables and ensure that MOF certification is needed.
Note: Failing to provide these documents will lead to a deduction of the withholding tax (8.5%) as per the Lebanese Law.

A cover letter outlining relevant experience and qualifications related to mentoring. In PDF, with a clear financial proposal in USD dollars covering the mentorship sessions, and all the preparations and after training material to be sent to LLWB. The lumpsum sent should include all taxes.

The Lebanese League for Women in Business (LLWB) is seeking a qualified Individual Mentor Consultant to provide 5 mentoring sessions (2 to 3 hours per session) for women entrepreneurs.
Interested candidates are invited to submit a quotation in USD for the full set of sessions. Please note that LLWB will contact only the selected candidates to inform them of the specific number of women they will be mentoring.
The mentoring sessions will take place in December 2024 and early January 2025. The sessions may be conducted online or in-person, depending on the prevailing situation at the time.
