Call for Trainers - Teachers Training - Empowering Educators for Enhanced Educational Practices

Kayany Foundation, a leading organization committed to providing quality education and support to vulnerable children and Youth, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant to conduct a comprehensive training program for our teachers, school principals, and education officers. The objective of this training is to empower our education staff to lead professional learning initiatives, fostering continuous improvement of educational practices at both classroom and school levels.

Project Overview: The Shabake 2 Project was designed in the framework of the localization of aid agenda and the need to strengthen Lebanese NGO capacities so that local recipients can take the lead in responding to crises generally and to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon specifically. It follows the implementation of the Shabake 1 Project which was implemented from 2019 to 2022. The project aims to help local Lebanese non-governmental organizations (NGOs) become lasting, key players in mitigating and ameliorating the effects of the Syrian refugee crisis on Lebanon.
Shabake 2 project is supported by Agence Française de Développement - AFD and the Centre de Crise et De Soutien and implemented by the French public agency for international technical cooperation Expertise France.

 

Training Objective: The selected consultant will work closely with our education staff to design and implement tailored interventions that enhance their capacity to maintain high educational quality. We are seeking a professional with over 5 years of experience in training teachers on innovative pedagogical methods. The consultant should be well-informed and updated on the latest findings related to the following suggested topics:

 

  1. Disciplining in the classroom- Alternatives to punishment (classroom management)
  2. Motivating students- bring the best out of students by simple changes in our communication and behavior
  3. Active learning- Methodologies to make teaching more interactive, involving and more meaningful (student-centered)
  4. Learning styles- understanding learning styles and how we can maximize learning using this understanding
  5. Multiple intelligences- to make classes more interactive and interesting
  6. Cooperative learning- how to multiply learning using groups
  7. Understanding and working with higher order thinking skills
  8. Developing and using creativity in learning
  9. Brain-based learning and study skills
  10. Adopting a positive class/school environment
  11.  Project-based learning (grades 5 till 9)
  12.  How to use new communication technologies to create content that would enhance student engagement and improve communication among students and teachers

     

Selection criteria of education trainer

The Kayany Foundation seeks to find an education consultant who can effectively lead its comprehensive training program for education staff. The selection process will be thorough, focusing on alignment with the foundation's mission and the ability to enhance the professional development of teachers, school principals, and education officers. The criteria for selection include:

Relevant Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in conducting training for educators with a focus on innovative teaching methods.

Expertise in Educational Pedagogy: Deep understanding of modern teaching techniques, classroom management, and strategies to engage students.

Content Knowledge: Familiarity with current educational research, including active learning, multiple intelligences, and technology integration.

Adaptability and Tailoring: Ability to create tailored interventions to address specific challenges of the education staff.

Effective Communication Skills: Strong communication and presentation abilities for diverse audiences.

Proven Track Record: Successful collaborations with educational institutions, indicating positive outcomes in training initiatives.

Innovative Approach: Capability to introduce creative teaching methods that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving.
