Call for Announcement: Trainer for Psychosocial Support and Trauma Identification Training - Position: Consultant Trainer

Project Overview: The Shabake 2 Project is part of our ongoing efforts to address the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and strengthen the capacities of local Lebanese non-governmental organizations (NGOs). This project is supported by Agence Française de Développement - AFD and the Centre de Crise et De Soutien, and implemented by the French public agency for international technical cooperation, Expertise France. It aims to empower local NGOs to play a pivotal role in mitigating and ameliorating the effects of the Syrian refugee crisis on Lebanon.

Position Overview: Kayany Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced trainer to conduct a comprehensive training program on Psychosocial support. The objective of this training is to empower Kayany’s education staff, including teachers, school principals, and social workers, with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide psychosocial support and identify children who may have experienced trauma. The goal is to enable our staff to refer these children to specialists for the support they require.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive training program on psychosocial support and trauma identification.
  • Provide training to teachers, school principals, and education officers.
  • Equip participants with the tools and knowledge to identify signs of trauma in children and provide appropriate support.
  • Offer guidance on referring children to specialists for further assistance.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in delivering training on psychosocial support and trauma identification.
  • Strong knowledge of educational practices and the impact of trauma on children.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and empower participants.

 

Selection Criteria for PSS Trainer:

The Kayany Foundation is in search of a Psychosocial Support (PSS) consultant who will play a pivotal role in leading our comprehensive training program for our education staff. The selection process will be meticulous, focusing on alignment with the foundation's mission and the ability to empower our staff to provide effective psychosocial support and identify children who may have experienced trauma. The criteria for selection include:

1. Relevant Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in conducting PSS training with a focus on psychosocial support and trauma identification.

2. Expertise in PSS Pedagogy: Deep understanding of modern PSS techniques, effective communication with vulnerable children, and strategies to create a safe and supportive environment.

3. Adaptability and Tailoring: Ability to customize training interventions to address the unique needs and challenges of our education staff in providing PSS.

4. Effective Communication Skills: Strong communication and presentation abilities, particularly in the context of working with educators, social workers, and other professionals involved in PSS.

5. Innovative Approach: Capability to introduce innovative and effective PSS methods that promote emotional well-being, resilience, and trauma recovery in children.
