INTERSOS is a non-profit humanitarian aid organization that works to bring assistance to people in danger, victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts. Established in 1992 with support from the Italian Federation of Trade Unions, its actions are based on the values of solidarity, justice, human dignity, equal rights and opportunities for all people and respect for diversity and coexistence, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable and the unprotected.

Job Title: Psychologist

Reports to: Project Manager - Emergency Response

Duty Station:  Remote with regular visits to Beirut Mount Lebanon office

Position Type: Consultant

 

Job Purpose:

Provide remote psychotherapy sessions to beneficiaries (including but not limited to, both adults and youth, GBV survivors or at risk, and persons with specific needs (PwSN).

 

Generic Duties:

  1. Report to the Line Manager or Project Manager any problems and/or training needs identified during the monitoring of the implementation of psychological activities;
  2. Produce and maintain in an accurate way a weekly and monthly report of the activities conducted, including the number of cases counseled;
  3. Be available to train on psychological support and first aid INTERSOS staff when requested;
  4. Collaborate with INTERSOS staff in conducting any other trainings when requested by the PM;
  5. Accomplish any other assignments given by supervisors or the PM;
  6. Be available to participate in meetings in INTERSOS offices or other identified premises.

 

Specific Duties:

  1. Conduct short-term intervention therapy to several groups of beneficiaries.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Psychology, & Master Degree in Clinical Psychology.
  • Has a License to Practice (or in the process of obtaining).

 

Competencies: (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Professional Competencies:

  • Minimum 3 years in a clinical setting and with at least 1 year in an NGO;
  • Experience providing group counselling services;
  • Experience with working with several groups of beneficiaries (a variety of age groups, and possible disorders [esp. PTSD])
  • Understanding and commitment to child’s rights and protection;
  • Experience with short-term interventions and therapeutic techniques
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Analytical and reporting skills;
  • Driving license.
