BACKGROUND:

The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization based in Beirut. CLDH was created in 2006 by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily), which has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human rights violations.

CLDH monitors the human rights situation in Lebanon, fights enforced disappearance, impunity, arbitrary detention and racism and rehabilitates the victims of torture. CLDH regularly organizes press conferences, workshops and advocacy meetings on human rights issues in Lebanon and collects, records and documents human rights abuses in reports and press releases.

CLDH team on the ground supports initiatives aimed at determining the fate of all missing persons in Lebanon.

CLDH regularly follows up on numerous cases of arbitrary detention and torture in Lebanon in coordination with Lebanese and international organizations, and with the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention WGAD and the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture.

Job Summary:

The multimedia officer is responsible for creating engaging multimedia content across various digital platforms, including short videos, infographics, and visuals. The Multimedia officer will report to the Communications and Advocacy Officer and collaborate closely with the department to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, create, and edit multimedia content including videos, images, infographics, animations, and interactive media which effectively raises awareness on human rights violations and promotes advocacy efforts
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure multimedia content aligns with organizational goals and messaging
  • Manage multimedia projects from inception to completion
  • Write scripts in collaboration with the Communications and Advocacy Officer
  • Stay up to date with multimedia trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance content quality and engagement
  • Attend and cover events and roundtable discussions hosted by CLDH Implement multimedia strategies while creating content to increase audience engagement and reach across different platforms

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in multimedia content creation and editing
  • Proficiency in multimedia software/tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Final Cut Pro, etc.
  • Strong creative vision and storytelling skills
  • Excellent project management abilities with a keen attention to detail
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and multimedia distribution channels
  • Strong proficiency in Arabic, English, and French

         Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Multimedia Design, Visual Communication, Film Production, Film making or related field
