Under the overall supervision of the National Programme Officer (ERR) and direct supervision of the Project Assistant in Beirut, the incumbent will:

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Assist in conducting household visits in the field covering assessment phase, data entry, selection, and monitoring for the affected communities including municipalities, community representatives and youth.

2. Assist in conducting Focus Group Discussions with host and refugee communities to identify common priorities for a particular area.

3. Support in day to day monitoring of ongoing Emergency Recovery & Resilience projects activities and ensure timely and proper implementation.

4. Visit the locations where affected populations are residing and gather information on their number, location, demographic, and other basic data as requested (data may also be collected through telephone interviews);

5. Examine and process data into simple forms in accordance with instructions and guidelines received;

6. Assist and coordinate with responsible staff to ensure safety of transporting and distributing relief items and IOMs humanitarian response and recovery efforts if and when needed;

7. Ensure gender mainstreaming throughout activities, addressing protection, social, environmental and ‎other relevant cross-cutting concerns

8. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

A minimum high school diploma is required.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in data collection, or humanitarian work.

Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of computer programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Capacity to work independently, efficiently with flexibility;
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Previous experience on assessments/data collection activities is an advantage

Languages:

For all applicants, fluency in English and Arabic is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of French is desirable.
