Period of Performance: July 15th 2024 to March 31st 2025
Level of Effort: The Consultant will work for 8 months.
Background: International Medical Corps staff care consultant was first recruited in 2020 to promote individual and organizational capacity, create a healthy and productive workforce; create wellbeing among staff and improve the quality of their work by promoting emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and physical health.
Purpose: The staff care consultant will conduct group and individual sessions per month on need basis in order to increase the wellbeing of IMC employees and outreach volunteers.
Specific tasks: The role of the staff care consultant is multifaceted, focusing on enhancing the well-being, development, and retention of staff within IMC. The staff care consultant plays a crucial role under each of the four program components, with responsibilities including:
1. Life Coach Group Sessions
- Designing and facilitating group sessions on various topics related to personal and professional
development.
- Creating a safe and supportive environment for staff to share experiences and learn from one another.
- Continuously evaluating the effectiveness of these sessions and making necessary adjustments based
on feedback.
2.Individual Counseling Sessions
- Providing confidential one-on-one counseling sessions to address individual challenges.
- Developing personalized strategies and action plans to help employees manage stress and improve
well-being.
- Keeping detailed, confidential records of sessions to track progress and outcomes.
3.Peer-to-Peer Capacity Building
- Identifying and mapping out the skills and interests of staff members through surveys and assessments.
- Organizing training sessions, workshops, and informal exchanges to facilitate mutual learning.
- Monitoring the progress and impact of these initiatives and adjusting as needed based on participant
feedback.
4.Team Building Activities
- Planning and coordinating activities that promote collaboration and teamwork.
- Ensuring activities are inclusive, engaging, and aligned with the organization’s culture and objectives.
- Gathering feedback from participants to assess the effectiveness of team-building activities and
identify areas for improvement.
5. Additional tasks:
- Providing monthly feedback to the senior management team regarding the follow up of the sessions,
interaction of participants and satisfaction rates.
- Attending coordination meetings with IMC relevant departments, including HR and MHPSS senior
team when required.
- Providing induction to new hires about the staff care program.
- Assisting in enhancing the current program through recommendations and observations
- Maintaining confidentiality of information shared outside the group and individual sessions.
The consultant needs to have the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree in clinical psychology
- Finalized psychotherapy training (minimum of 1100 hours as per the syndicate of psychotherapists) integrative approach.
- Previous Experience in working on staff care program is mandatory.
- Experience in designing training for teams about relevant topics i.e. anger management, conflict resolution, etc.
- Possess substantive work experience with NGOs, which is an essential requirement to understand the multi-layered dynamics and stress factors in an emergency and within NGOs unless they have previous experience on the field.
- Good knowledge of self-care technique
- Creative and innovative.
- Fluent in spoken Arabic and good knowledge of English language.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
The staff care consultant will share with senior management a program design reflecting the four pillars:
1. Life Coach Group Sessions
2. Individual Counseling Sessions
3. Peer-to-Peer Capacity Building
4. Team Building Activities
Individual Staff counseling
Monthly Activity Report Monthly basis
Final report Upon completion of the staff-care project
Fixed Price Fee: A Fixed Fee of 2000 USD will be paid based on completion of and International Medical Corps acceptance of deliverables
Location of Work: Consultant resides in Lebanon and will conduct her/his work in all regions (BML, South, North & Bekaa).
