General Call for Facilitation/Training Consultants

EnCompass LLC’s Monitoring and Evaluation Support Program in Lebanon (MEPL) is seeking trainers/facilitators with expertise on a variety of subjects (see below). We are looking for individuals who are highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and are interested in Adult Learning, in the international development arena. The consultants will work under the direct supervision of the MEPL Senior CLA Specialist and in close collaboration with the MEPL team to design, coordinate, and implement learning activities. The consultant will be responsible to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and in accordance with EnCompass’ and USAID’s quality standards. The MEPL team represented by the Senior CLA Specialist holds ultimate responsibility for the quality and completion of all deliverables outlined in this scope of work and will work collaboratively with the Trainer to achieve that end.
The consultants are expected to provide participants with workshops and/or trainings in the following Topics:
- USAID Evaluation Policy
- Theory of Change
- Logframe Development
- Knowledge Management
- Adaptive Management
- Building an Organizational Culture of Learning
- Data Analysis and Visualization
- Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods
- Performance Management (indicators – targets and baselines)
- MEL Plan Development
- Scenario Planning – Risk Management
- Strategic Planning
The consultation work will take place in Lebanon. The consultant will be expected to deliver the training in a face to face modality with occasional options for remote training/facilitation. Preparations and coordination meetings could be done remotely.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Lebanon
Position Duties and Responsibilities
The specific tasks of the consultant are as follows:
- Prepare and design training materials, agenda, tools, presentations, assignments, and activities, in communication and mutual understanding with the MEPL team using a highly interactive training methodology that demonstrates awareness of adult learning modes. Material must be prepared using USAID templates provided by MEPL and must comply with USAID's branding and marking requirements.
- Deliver proper facilitation for the, ensuring objectives and modules are made clear and participative engagement is supported
- Provide all the material needed for the training sessions, including for example PowerPoint slides, handouts, etc.
- At the end of the training, the consultant will present a detailed report about the training, including description of content and approach and data on participants’ assessments of effectiveness of the training.

Qualifications
Academic Qualifications
Hold an advanced degree in the topic area or a related field.
Experience and Skills
At least 8 years of experience in the topic area
Expert knowledge of USAID policies and practices is highly desirable
Experience in delivering trainings to adult professionals
Positive attitude and energetic presence
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
Very strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to train in both Arabic and English
