Consultant for training facilitator in Dairy Mouneh Production
The consultant is a national expert in entrepreneurship training, ideally from the private sector, who will deliver technical trainings for the proposed training, as well as provide training curricula, field manuals, and an information database. In addition, the consultant will provide advice on best practice in the relevant sector in Lebanon to maximize support for participants to market linkages. The consultant is expected to provide high level support to the organization and advisory services to participants before, during, and after training delivery. Participants in the training are foreseen as men and women, Syrian and Lebanese living in the areas of Akkar: Burj el Arab, Halba, Hishe and Bire.. and the consultant will be expected to deliver trainings in these areas and meet regularly at the organization’s office in Minyara and Tripoli

- Ensure that training participants are adequately prepared to home based activities.
Responsibilities
The curriculum will include all the needed skills that are needed taking in consideration the available time. The curriculum should include a theoretical and practical part with an approximate.
percentage of 15-85 for theoretical and practical parts. The duration of this training including both the technical and practical part is a maximum of 20 days (flexible to change depends on the agreed training agenda and needed days), 6-hours each day resulting in a total of 120 training hours in total.
In addition to that, the curricula should ensure learning visits to suppliers of equipment and raw materials, successful businesses, and other relevant sites.
The curriculum will be validated by a specialized team from INMAA to make sure that the curriculum covers the needed skills. Once validated, the consultant will proceed to the remaining tasks.
Task 1: Preparation of revised training manual, materials, and plan
Based on the review, the consultant is expected to discuss the proposed content with both the FSL Program Manager and the FSL Officers to proceed to revision of necessary training tools. It is expected that at least two meetings will be required during this stage. Akkarouna agrees to provide the consultant with all the necessary information on the project and on previous trainings and materials (if available).
The training materials will be discussed with Akkarouna staff to agree on the methodology and approach, schedule, topics to be taught, and teaching instruments, etc. The plan shall also include:
- Methodology for each course
- Training manual for the course participants
- Training presentation in PowerPoint and any additional training tools needed
- Validation from the relevant authority for certification of this training material
- Validation from private sector employers for the relevance of this training manual
- Validation from INMAA
- Tentative schedule for training in each site
- Additional materials or logistics needed
Training modules will consist of specific sessions related to selected skills for Dairy Mouneh Production accepted tools and concepts of trainings based on the combined experience of Akkarouna and the consultant. The majority of the training delivery should be hands-on and practical, including monitoring under close supervision. The consultant’s facilitators will also be required to answer technical questions in a manner that is interesting and easily understood by the attendees.
The training program must be based on internationally accepted training methods but be flexible and user-friendly. The consultant must feel comfortable with this program and be confident in their ability to use the instruments to communicate accurate and timely information. In addition, the training manual and other media intended for the trainings must be clear and understandable.
The Consultant should also produce pre and post-test as well as a session evaluation document.
Task 2: Develop a timetable for the consultancy
A timetable for all deliverables and other key milestones of the consultancy will be agreed with Akkarouna staff. This will include the training schedule and site visits in order that Akkarouna staff can take permission from participants and support the logistics of site visits.
Task 3: Deliver trainings and recommend visits
Training content should focus on building effective skills and creating market linkage through recommending at least 3 relevant visits to suppliers, professionals, workshops, and other relevant locations. Coordination throughout all the training activities between the consultant and Akkarouna staff is required.
Trainings will culminate in a certificate. It is vital that the consultant liaise with Akkarouna in the planning stages to ensure that all certificates issued are valid.
Task 4: Provide required reports
Once the training is carried out for all participants, a summary report will be prepared to describe participation and findings, including:
- Documentation of all training sessions through attendance sheets, photographs, and videos
- Detailed information about the outcomes of the trainings and the engagement of participants
- A report containing the field visits, the goals of each, the things to look at, and key learning points of each visit.
- A final summary report and assessment of services rendered, detailing the consultant’s inputs and outputs in the training
Deliverables
All deliverables will be validated by Program Manager and approved by FSL Technical Advisor and CoP before considered complete. Coordination of all activities with the Program Manager is required. (Attched File).
Required competencies
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- The selected candidate will have an advanced experience in technical trainings, at least 3 years of experience.
- Strong experience in delivering trainings to multicultural attendees
- Knowledge and experience in working with NGOs for at least 3 years
- Experience in development, design, and facilitations of training programs
- Experience with promoting participatory monitoring and evaluation techniques is highly desirable
- Demonstrated professional leadership
- Capacity to think creatively in dealing with vulnerable audiences
- Strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability of making effective presentations to diverse attendees.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic
- Interpersonal skills
- High reporting experience
- Clear understanding of the political, geographic, and economic dynamics of the area of implementation
