JOB TITLE: HR Manager (Generalist)

JOB PURPOSE

The HR Manager (Generalist) is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of human resources within ABAAD. This position requires a broad understanding of HR functions and the ability to handle a diverse range of responsibilities, including recruitment, employee relations, training and development, performance management, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.

REPORTING LINES: Director of Operations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in accordance with organizational goals and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job posting, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
  • Oversee employee onboarding and orientation, ensuring new employees receive necessary training, understand company policies, and feel welcomed and supported.
  • Advise and support managers and employees on various HR-related matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Coordinate and conduct training and development programs to enhance employees' skills, knowledge, and professional growth.
  • Manage compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, performance-based incentives, and employee benefits packages.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Coordinate with the financial auditor and finance team on monthly/yearly tax declaration.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement initiatives to enhance morale and productivity.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in HR, and recommend innovative approaches to improve HR processes and practices.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives aligned with the organization's goals.
  • Manage employee conflict resolution processes and conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints, grievances, or misconduct allegations. This includes ensuring a fair and unbiased investigation process, interviewing relevant parties, collecting evidence, and documenting findings.
  • Implement appropriate corrective actions or disciplinary measures in line with company policies and applicable laws, while maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity throughout the process.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on conflict resolution strategies and techniques.
  • Conduct field visits to ABAAD model Centers and Shelters as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an HR generalist in the NGO context, with a comprehensive understanding of various HR functions.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and effectively collaborate with employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in HR software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
