Association des Jeunes Islamiques (ADJI) is a leading non-profit rehabilitation center in Lebanon. Established in 1997, the organization is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services—including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychosocial support—to vulnerable individuals such as persons with disabilities (PwDs), children with disabilities (CwDs), and elderly individuals.
As part of its commitment to integrity and ethical conduct, ADJI enforces a zero-tolerance policy on Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) and requires all staff to adhere to the Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Code of Conduct.
ADJI is currently implementing a Comprehensive Rehabilitation, Secondary Healthcare, and Protection Services Project in North Lebanon, delivering services through its central rehabilitation center in Tripoli as well as through mobile and home-based care initiatives.
Job Summary
The Physiotherapist will deliver specialized rehabilitation services to vulnerable individuals in North Lebanon. This role involves assessing patients’ physical conditions, planning and implementing tailored physical therapy interventions, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to improve patients’ mobility, functionality, and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Rehabilitation Services
Assess patients’ physical conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
Deliver physical therapy (PT) sessions including mobility training, strength exercises, and pain management techniques.
Ensure each patient receives tailored therapy sessions based on their unique needs.
Train caregivers on home-based rehabilitation techniques and mobility support.
Recommend and distribute assistive devices (e.g., crutches, wheelchairs, walkers) as needed.
Patient & Caregiver Education
Provide guidance on self-care, mobility, and injury prevention.
Conduct awareness sessions for caregivers to support effective home-based rehabilitation.
Data Collection & Reporting
Maintain accurate patient records and document progress and treatment plans.
Participate in Functional Independence Evaluations (FIEs) to assess treatment impact.
Collaboration & Coordination
Work closely with rehabilitation center staff, social workers, and medical teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Refer patients for secondary healthcare interventions when required.
Support community mobilizers in identifying and assessing beneficiaries.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in physiotherapy, preferably in humanitarian or healthcare settings.
Experience working with persons with disabilities (PwDs) and elderly populations.
Strong skills in patient assessment, therapy planning, and rehabilitation techniques.
Fluency in Arabic; knowledge of English and/or French.
Competencies & Skills
Compassion and patience when working with vulnerable populations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with patients and caregivers.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, multicultural environment.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in mobile and home-based settings.
