Project Coordinator Protection - Sin El Fil

JOB SUMMARY

The Emergency Protection Project Coordinator provides support to the team through assessment, planning, monitoring and documentation, capacity building support (training and facilitation) and coordination with the local partners to implement the Emergency Protection Projects.

MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Activities:

• Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of emergency protection project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes
• Ensure emergency Protection project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor and the organization
• Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the emergency protection project
• Monitor the implementation and progress of the project according to approved stated objectives, work plan, budget and record progress by working closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation unit, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
• Monitor the progress of the emergency protection project against set indicators in a timely manner.
• Monitor, evaluate and suggest changes and improvements in programme and materials based on observations and discussions with beneficiaries, partners, donors
• Manage all emergency protection project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures; ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
• Work closely with the financial officer to prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for donors as outlined in funding agreements.
• Manage budget spending and forecast including tracking and managing spending per budget line
• Ensure procurement requests are presented on a timely basis to facilitate timely implementation of field activities, ensuring cost efficiency and accountability in compliance with Caritas Lebanon and donor regulations and procedures
• Prepare periodic project narrative and financial reports as well as other ad hoc reports, according to Caritas Lebanon and donor requirements
• Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
• Coordinate internally with finance, logistics, procurement, Mental Health and Psychosocial Unit, M & E Unit, HR and program development teams, ensuring a consistent approach to project design, implementation and close out.
• Employ resourcefulness in project design, implementation and monitoring.
• Trouble shoots project problems, and identify and implement creative solutions
• Ensure close collaboration and coordination with the Head of programs
• Ensure regular visits to the field to assess the project’s implementation

Generic Duties:

• Comply to Caritas Lebanon policies and procedures 
• Complete schedules, activity planners, monitor staff availability and act against any shortfalls
• Resolve any staff issues and escalate any unresolved issue to the related manager
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Academic:

• Bachelor Degree related to humanitarian and project management or Degree relevant to the protection Field.

• Communication, writing, analytical and negotiation skills

• Proven leadership skills and ability to guide teams
• Proven regulatory expertise

Related Work Experience:

• 3 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience
• Proven Experience in Effective data trending, document control, reporting skills and technical bench skills

Language skills:

• English and Arabic

Computer Literacy:

• MS-Word / MS-Excel – Advanced level
