Description:

CESVI has an environmental awareness campaign event in October which will be highlighting environmental protection through the activity of the MSMEs it is working with. Therefore, CESVI is looking for two Design Volunteers to support in simple, visual prototypes and models that showcase the environmental themes tied to the MSMEs’ activities.

The volunteers will work under the supervision of Project Manager and will collaborate with CESVI’s Awareness Campaign focal point.

In the framework of the project funded by the Italian Corporation, they will:

  • Assist with the creation of basic prototypes and visual representations (e.g., display models, mock-ups, or educational tools) that reflect MSMEs' contributions to environmental protection. These will be used in the event to help communicate ideas simply and visually to the audience.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and CESVI’s Awareness Campaign focal point to understand the environmental themes and translate them into simple, creative designs.
  • Identify low-cost, easily sourced materials and share a list of materials needed for the prototypes as well as the services to rely on (i.e. laser cutting, 3D printing etc).
  • Work on developing the prototypes over a 5-day period, following the procurement of materials.
  • Report any challenges or adjustments needed to ensure the prototypes are completed on time and to the expected standard.

Knowledge of using Arduino and Raspberry Pi is not mandatory but can be an asset.
  • Applicants must know how to conduct a risk and sturdiness test for models.
  • Applicants are allowed to leverage AI tools for tips on how to better build these models and prototypes.
  • Creativity is a must; a portfolio or show of university projects can be an asset.
