We are seeking a passionate and organized individual to join our non-profit organization as a part-time Volunteers' Team Leader Intern. In this role, You will receive inductive training from the president to lead and coordinate the activities of our volunteer team, ensuring their effective contribution to our 2-3 ongoing projects. Furthermore, you will receive training that fits your needs whenever applicable. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills, gain experience in non-profit volunteer management, and make a meaningful impact on our organization's mission.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop a clear and SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound) plan for the volunteer team's activities and engagement

Plan and coordinate the implementation of volunteer-led activities that require limited or no budget (or seek to secure funding in coordination with other team members when applicable)

Inspire, support, and motivate the volunteers in the successful execution of their tasks, providing guidance and brief capacity-building as needed

Coordinate with the management team to ensure alignment and effective integration of volunteer efforts with the organization's overall operations and projects

Assist in the preparation and implementation of special events (e.g., recreational, cultural, and sports activities) in collaboration with the project staff

Host regular meetings with the volunteer team and the management team to share lessons learned, exchange experiences, and gather feedback

Demonstrate a gender-sensitive approach and a strong understanding of the Lebanese Sidonian context and its influence on human rights, youth, and children

Serve as the primary point of contact for the volunteer team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment

Stay up-to-date on environmental issues, policies, and advocacy, and incorporate these considerations into the volunteer team's activities

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and impact of the volunteer program

Report to the organization's upper management on the progress, challenges, and achievements of the volunteer team

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., non-profit management, volunteer management, social sciences)

Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating teams, preferably in a volunteer or non-profit setting

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills

Ability to think strategically and drive organizational growth and impact

Commitment to the organization's values of equality, social justice, integrity, participation, and inclusion

Strong understanding of environmental issues, policies, and advocacy

Knowledge of the Lebanese Sidonian context and its influence on human rights, youth, and children

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and experience with project management tools

Willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment

Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
