Organization Background

Nation Station is a Beirut-based Lebanese Civil Society Organization that was founded in the aftermath of the August 4th blast. It was born as a grassroot movement to support the neighborhood of Geitawi that was severely affected by the explosion.

In line with its guiding principle “Empowerment over Charity”, Nation Station is dedicated to building solutions adapted to the needs of the community by empowering activists, volunteers, and community members through involvement, employment, skill building, and education. Community kitchen, community health center, and cultural events are among Nation Station’s key activities and projects.

Festival Background

Nation Station’s Cultural Events Department has organized small-scale summer festivals, workshops and exhibitions with the aim of providing the neighborhood of Geitawi with a vibrant cultural scene that is inclusive, easily accessible and free of charge.
