About the Fellowship

The Institute for Social Justice and Conflict Resolution (ISJCR) invites scholars who will be completing or have recently completed a PhD, to apply for its Emerging Scholar Fellowship.

The Emerging Scholar Fellowship aims to support rising scholars whose research focuses on governance, conflict, fragility, and crisis management in Lebanon and the MENA region. Interested applicants are encouraged to present innovative research that seeks to advance their respective academic disciplines and also bring about meaningful practical applications to either Lebanon’s multidimensional crisis or other current challenges to democracy, governance, justice, or peace in the MENA region.

Emerging Scholar Fellows will be welcomed into the Institute for Social Justice and Conflict Resolution community and invited to participate in weekly meetings aimed at encouraging collaboration.

Fellows are responsible for publishing 2 research papers over a period of 6 months to be posted on the ISJCR’s website and are encouraged to use these papers as the basis for journal article submissions.

In the spirit of maintaining the ISJCR’s commitment to bridging the worlds of academia and policy, fellows will participate in the ISJCR’s monthly blog posts and podcast series, among other ISJCR-led activities.
