Procurement officer
Under the supervision of the SWSL president and the Project Coordinators, the following are the specific responsibilities:
S/he will:
- Manage the procurement process by coordinating with the project coordinators and setting efficient procurement plans.
- Maintain and update supplier information, research, and evaluate prospective suppliers.
- Manage inventories and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Prepare budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
- Understand Syndicate targets and objectives.
- Enforce syndicate’s procurement policy and procedures.
- Maintain positive supplier relations, negotiate well, make sure that materials, products, or services meet the syndicate’s specification, and ensure that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality.
- Compare, analyze, and approve with purchasing committee products and services to be purchased.
Qualifications:
Required
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work independently.
- Good knowledge of the procurement process.
- Efficiency while working under stress.
- Strong attention to details.
- Fluent in Arabic and English. French is a plus.
Additional
- Good problem-solving capacity.
- Work experience with local communities, children or vulnerable people.
