Aim: To support government and partners in strengthening the ability of health systems to meet the mental health needs of refugee and host communities affected by protracted displacement, focusing on Lebanon.

The post holder will work primarily on a project supporting social stability activities in public schools. As part of a consortium with three other organisations, International Alert’s role is to conduct context analysis in the target communities, advise partners on how to improve the project’s impact on social cohesion, support the implementation of social cohesion activities and monitor the results related to social cohesion in and around schools. The post holder will be the lead in the relationship International Alert has with the Partners’ field teams in and around the 4 schools in Beirut

Connecting Research to Development (CRD) is a research think tank that operates in the support, generation, and dissemination of evidence-based research from the combined perspectives of public health and social science in MENA, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe. Functional since 2000 under the name of Société de Recherche et d'Environnement (SRSE), CRD was officially established in 2014 in Beirut, Lebanon. In close cooperation with its partners, the specific goal is to apply scientific innovative know-how and to transform evidence-based data into programmatic actions.

DRC has been responding to various humanitarian crises in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees. DRC received registration from the Ministry of Interior in 2011, and since then has focused primarily on responding to the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon and the resulting impact on Lebanese host community. DRC Lebanon’s focus is to ensure that we are able to respond to critical emerging humanitarian needs whilst improve the living conditions of displacement-affected populations and contribute to the achievement of durable solutions.

The project will empower young women to take control over their career choices by providing skills and opportunities to increase their employability and support them to make informed life choices. This will be achieved through high quality career services and life skills training and a suitable job placement and/or vocational training. Given the precarious economic situation for businesses, the project will strengthen the capacity and resilience of MSEs to withstand the current crises, thereby increasing the likelihood that women will remain employed after job placement.

Research Consultant - Child Marriage Study in Lebanon

RDFL is seeking a research consultant or consulting firm to conduct a study on child marriage in Lebanon.

We are looking for a team that has experience conducting research on gender issues, child protection, and/or social policy in Lebanon or the region. The team should be able to design and implement a survey, analyze the data, and produce a report with actionable recommendations for policymakers and practitioners.
