The position will handle the Day-to-day implementation of WVL Livelihood Project tasks:

  • Develop the market studies in each area through household visits and focus group discussions;
  • Conduct the different trainings specific for each area (climate smart agriculture)
  • Accompany farmers throughout the different activities (Apple Harvesting, demo plots, visits to service centres, linkages to markets/private sector...)

Ensure Project Activities Implementation

  • Conduct informative sessions to project stakeholders to explain the project goals, activities, regulations …
  • Ensure that all project sites are set up in adherence to basic security standards as provided by the Project Manager and security department.
  • Prepare the trainings content in close coordination with the Line Manager and Technical Specialist.
  • Supervise day to day operations as per the detailed operational plan,
  • Conduct pre-screening phone calls to gather primary data the project needs.
  • Provide training for the farmers.
  • Conduct follow-up field visits to benefiting farmers to ensure proper use of materials and provide technical guidance and advice.
  • Ensure that all project materials and resources are well maintained and stocked in a safe place.
  • Ensure activity materials are well managed and coordinate with line manager with the status/ availability of stock.
  • Ensure that the interventions are meeting deadlines, completed in a safe timely matter, and following guidelines.
  • Ensure that the handover done with the quality needed.
  • Training new contractors and having good skills in scheduling, coaching, evaluating, controlling, implementing, resolving problems, maintaining security, and monitoring their work.

Coordination and Reporting

  • Coordinate and ensure staff daily workers are performing their jobs.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to make sure activities are resumed.
  • Coordinate daily with the Municipalities and project Focal point to ensure availability of materials / locations and field focal points.
  • Coordinate daily with the project manager and project officer on the progress of works in each activity zone.
  • Make Daily Coordination with the Line manager to ensure that act is conducting the assigned tasks as per the standards.
  • Ensure that communication with the beneficiaries is clear, identify any bottlenecks and gaps and report back to the Line Manager
  • Refer any protection cases spotted in the field to the project manager.
  • Follow up on the referrals.
  • Prepare Master / Monthly / Weekly plans for the technical trainings and follow up with staff on the achievements and quality of materials provided.
  • Ensure that all the data concerning the activities are filed or sent to the Line manager (assessments, family lists, handovers, payments, MOUs, and pictures) to close the contracts.
  • Ensure accuracy of reported data, by following internal guidelines
  • Regularly back up data on Box.
  • Informing the manager about the time of work completion to facilitate the handover of sites.
  • Report the trainings progress to the line manager and update the relevant formats and databases for the construction activities.
  • Support the project coordinator with the need assessment activities for developing new proposals.
  • Report all the security issues through incident reports to the line manager.
  • Report all the incidents with the stakeholders/contractors to the line manager

All project deliverables are met within the agreed timeframe and budget in compliance with donor regulations, WVL’s, and international best practices;

Perform other duties as required

  • Attend Services related meetings with sector, donors, and local authorities.
  • Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally.
  • Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.
  • Act responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.
  • Report CP incidents as per the safeguarding policy guidelines.
  • Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Line Manager.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in similar tasks, working with NGOs in the livelihoods, agriculture or food security sectors
  • Experience in delivering trainings on sustainable practices to farmers
  • Expertise to enter, transcribe, record, maintain data/information in written or electronic forms.
  • Relevant experience in Apple Production & Wheat Production
  • Bachelor degree in Agriculture Engineering or equivalent degree/experience
  • Intermediate understanding of technology such as (tablets/ Microsoft office and specially Excel)
  • A valid driver’s license (more than 1 year old).
  • Ability to act with appropriate respect to the beneficiaries’ cultures and traditions.
  • Ability to listen and respond to beneficiary inquiry under any circumstances.
  • Ability to gather information in an objective, appropriate and sensitive way.
  • Proven Experience in Apple Production and Wheat Production
