World Learning has a vacancy for a Teacher of French as a Foreign Language.

Educational Background
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field, with a focus on teaching French as a first or second language preferred
Work Experience
1. At least 5 years of experience in teaching French language in middle and/or high school settings
2. Experience in inquiry-based learning methodologies, fostering student-driven exploration and critical thinking
3. Previous involvement in after-school programs, in extracurricular activities or academic support
4. Familiarity with diverse student populations and proficiency levels, adapting instruction to meet students’ individual needs
Qualifications
1. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and basic IT skills for effective lesson planning, resource development, and communication with students and colleagues
2. Ability to integrate technology into language instruction, utilizing digital tools and resources to enhance learning outcomes
3. Collaborative mindset, working effectively within a team environment to coordinate activities, share best practices, and support student success
4. High-level proficiency in French and Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking)
5. Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver comprehensive French lessons that integrate Language Arts and meet the needs of diverse learners
• Promote language proficiency, cultural awareness, and critical thinking skills through project-based learning experiences for high school students, aligning with program goals and learning objectives
• Document student learning to make it visible through encouraging multi-modes of expression, such as presentations, posters, and other artistic activities
• Implement diagnostic student assessment for placement purposes
• Assess students’ progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support growth
• Foster an environment that encourages creative expression, critical thinking, reflection and a love for learning
• Implement a variety of instructional strategies/techniques for language learning and inquiry, and technological tools to enhance student learning and engagement
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate French with other disciplines to ensure connectedness for meaningful learning
• Communicate effectively with parents about students progress
