SPARK develops higher education and entrepreneurship, so that young ambitious people are empowered to lead their post-conflict society into prosperity. SPARK is a dynamic and growing not-for-profit development organization with 80 staff members that helps young entrepreneurs to start or grow their own businesses. SPARK helps displaced youth to access higher education in conflict areas. Moreover, SPARK assists post-secondary education institutions to reform their curricula to better meet the needs of the labour markets. Based in Amsterdam, SPARK has offices in among others Abidjan, Amman, Beirut, Belgrade, Bujumbura, Gaziantep, Erbil, Hargeisa, Juba, Kigali, Mitrovica, Monrovia, Ramallah, Sanaa and Tunis.

Through a four-year programme funded by the European Union, SPARK is strengthening innovation and startup ecosystems, together with two of its strategic partners, IACE (based in Tunisia) and Ruwwad (based in Jordan), and its local partners in Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Tunisia. The programme aims to accelerate the current development trend towards scaling and equipping ecosystems with the means to replicate their best practices. Furthermore, it focuses on enhancing the startup environment in the four countries through advocacy and regional exchange.

Job

SPARK has entrepreneurship and employment support programmes financed by Islamic Development Bank, European Union and Google based in Lebanon, with some activities in Jordan. The objectives of the programmes are to contribute to increased resilience and poverty reduction of refugees and vulnerable members of the host communities in Lebanon and Jordan. Some travel is required.
SPARK is looking for a Regional Communications Officer to support SPARK with its communication activities in Lebanon and Jordan.

The community officer will be responsible for all aspects of the community platform administrations. Also will be supporting in creating original text, video content, managing posts and responding to users enquiries.
