PSS Facilitator

The Psychosocial Support Facilitator will have the knowledge and practical skills to carry out psychosocial support activities with different age groups including girls and boys, Males and females, older persons, and persons with specific needs.

The PSS facilitator will implement the activities in a manner that leaves a considerable positive impact on the targeted beneficiaries and promotes their well-being.

Job Description:

  • Provide inclusive age- and gender-appropriate focused psychosocial support (PSS) to targeted groups or individuals.
  • Provide PFA and PSS sessions in line with the available curriculums and adapt the activities based on the needs of the ground.
  • Provide age- and gender-appropriate awareness-raising key messages on critical SGBV and CP risks, SRHR, available services, and gender equality & and inclusion, provided to the targeted population.
  • Provide recreational activities to Children's groups.
  • Full coordination with senior management and local focal points to ensure proper implementation of the project.
  • Plan, organize, and run workplan and activities with participants while facilitating and encouraging their participation.
  • Ensure activities run promptly to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
  • Ensure that all beneficiaries are involved in the activities being implemented
  • Deal with difficult behaviors (conflict, aggressiveness, introversion) and understand the reason behind the behavior to positively communicate with the situation.
  • Ensure that the participants under her/his responsibility are not exposed to any form of harm or stress during the activities
  • Collect data on the activities organized and ensure that all the relevant forms are duly filled
  • Identify key protection issues or threats affecting children and adolescents and raise them to the senior case manager through the appropriate referral pathway.
  • Refer General protection, CP, GBV, and high-risk cases to the case worker(s) of the project
  • Ensure all project means such as attendance sheets and evaluation documents… are filled in neatly and clearly and are always done promptly.
  • Report back to senior staff if requested promptly

  • All recruited staff are required to adhere to SHEILD Personnel PSEA policy and practices with respect to child protection minimum standards, code of conduct, code of ethics, equal opportunities, and other relevant policies and procedures.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Social work, Psychology,)
  • Good knowledge in Child Protection and Gender Based Violence
  • Able to deal with vulnerable population from different backgrounds
  • Quality, monitoring and reporting
  • Cultural Sensitivity
  • Good communication and facilitation skills
  • Self-management
  • Mission orientation
  • Teamwork
  • English and Arabic (written, read and spoken - not mandatory)
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Clean criminal record is a MUST
  • Able to manage and engage in a PSS mobile Unit
