Project Officer responsibilities include working closely with our Programs Manager to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes and budgets for projects.

 

The project officer will:

  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
  • Break projects into doable actions and set timeframes
  • Liaise with different stakeholders to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
  • Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope or timeline to achieve optimal results
  • Analyze risks and opportunities
  • Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
  • Help prepare budgets
  • Oversee project procurement management
  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all team members
  • Work with the Programs Manager to eliminate blockers
  • Use tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures
  • Issue all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g. contracts and terms of agreement)
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
  • Achieve organizational goals while adhering to standards and best practices

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all aspects of a project are organized and in conformance with timeline and deliverables requirement
  • Develop and maintain project performance database that tracks overall progress and achievement of milestones
  • Assign and monitor resources effectively to boost project efficiency and maximize deliverables output
  • Report project risks and outcomes to appropriate management channels, and escalate issues according to project work plan
  • Serve as point of communication between company teams and external resources
  • Deepen partnerships with outside resources, including third-party vendors and researchers

 

Required skills and qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in project coordination  or project officer
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
  • Proven success in a work setting, working with all levels of management
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner or any similar tool
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g. Basecamp or Trello)
