The Opportunity
The Child Rights Governance (CRG) Coordinator is responsible for the promotion of the rights of the child in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) through co-operation with local and regional organizations, institutions, authorities and international organizations.
The role holder will lead the implementation of the CRG projects in different areas including Mount Lebanon, Beirut and South according to the guidelines of Save the Children International (SCI) which aims to strengthen the civil society in which children are perceived as social players and human beings in their own right. This includes budget as well as programmatic implementation and monitoring according to SCI standards.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- Degree in social work, international relations, law, or development studies.3-5 years of child rights programming experience with at least 2- years staff management experience preferably with INGO(s)
- Demonstrated experience in managing partnerships with NGOs, civil society organizations (CSOs), and children and youth groups.
- Strong understanding of the child rights international and national frameworks
- Strong experience in working with governments and public institutions
- Strong experience in data collection and analysis
- Strong experience in field work and community mobilization; and in training groups of beneficiaries
- Strong experience working with local partners and capacity development
- Computer skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Strength in interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Previous experience of liaising with the UN, national and donor governments and NGOs as advantage.
- Available to travel in/out country
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
