1. Description 

The project comprises three types of cash for work activities targeting 500 workers: food production activities, including the production and distribution of daily meals and preserves baskets to 400 vulnerable families in targeted neighborhoods. In addition, we propose a Full-Stack Web Development VT targeting 25 women from vulnerable neighborhoods. All sub-activities will run for 3 cycles, and each cycle will start with a period of training, part of which will be technical, and will differ from one sub-activity to another, and part of which will be cross-cutting across all sub-activities, over two days. The latter part will include onboard training on PSEA, code of conduct, non-violent communication, work ethics and well-being. Once training is complete, the workers will move on to the production phase. 

 

2. Objectives 

The core objective of this training is to equip individuals from vulnerable communities with comprehensive knowledge and skills in Full-Stack Web Development, fostering their employment prospects and enhancing their contributions to the digital economy. The training aims to: 

Provide technical proficiency in full-stack web development. 

Enable practical application of acquired skills through project work and real-world scenarios. 

 

Scope of Work: The appointed Full-Stack Web Development Training Company will be responsible for the following tasks:  

a. Curriculum Development: 

Collaborate with the organizational team to design a comprehensive training curriculum covering various aspects of Full-Stack Web Development, including: 

Introduction/Preparation:  

  • Introduction to digital cultures and ecosystems 
  • Digital mediation: leading an introductory code-learning workshop for children 
  • Project management/agile methodology 
  • Linux and command line  
  • Tools: Github/Trello  
  • WordPress 

FrontEnd 

  • HTML and CSS 
  • Responsive design  
  • UI/UX  
  • Web quality and accessibility 
  • SEO 
  • UI Libraries 
  • JavaScript  
  • React/ Reat Native 

BackEnd 

  • Introduction to algorithms 
  • Design and administrative of database (Sqlite/MongoDB) 
  • Developing the server-side of a website/ web application (Node/Express, PHP/Laravel) 
  • Deploy one’s website /web application  
  • Programing –applied security 

 

b. Training Delivery: 

  • Conduct interactive and practical training sessions, workshops, and hands-on coding exercises to impart technical knowledge effectively. 
  • Utilize innovative teaching methodologies and tools to engage participants and ensure effective learning experiences. 

 

c. Skill Assessment and Feedback: 

  • Regularly assess participants' progress through quizzes, coding challenges, and project evaluations. 
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to assist participants in improving their coding skills and problem-solving abilities. 

 

d. Knowledge Transfer and Application: 

  • Support participants in applying acquired skills to real-world projects and scenarios. 
  • Assist in creating a conducive environment for continuous learning and skill application post-training. 

 

e. Promotion of IT Skills and Empowerment: 

  • Encourage the adoption of IT skills, promoting digital empowerment and job readiness among participants. 

 

Qualifications and Expertise:  The training company role should possess the following qualifications and expertise: 

  • Strong background in full-stack web development, including proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies, databases, and relevant frameworks. 
  • Demonstrable experience in conducting technical training sessions or proven expertise in software development training. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts effectively. 
  • Passion for teaching and empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
