Medical Research Assistant

Qorras is a queer feminist group working on collecting, producing, and disseminating knowledge related to issues of gender and sexuality. Through its various projects, Qorras seeks to theorize personal experiences and build on the work of others, while exploring and experimenting with frameworks, methodologies and tools for collaboratively producing and sharing knowledge in ways that serve our communities. We are seeking to hire a Medical Research Assistant to take on the below responsibilities within the scope of an upcoming project.

Scope of work: 

• Collaborate with the research team to understand project requirements 
• Uphold the ethical and safety standards of the project
• Contribute to developing the research methodology
• Conduct a desk review on medical institutions and procedures defined by the project
• Conduct interviews with community members and medical professionals in accordance with the project 
• Maintain a secure and organized archive of collected research data 
• Report on the progress of research 
• Write up a detailed final report providing preliminary insights based on the desk review and interviews
• Support with the translation of technical terminology
• Participate in the dissemination of the research findings 

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Public Health, or a related field is required
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Ability to write clearly and concisely
• Ability to work autonomously and efficiently to meet deadlines 
• Commitment to queer feminist politics
• Good knowledge of gender and sexuality issues in the local context
• Fluency in English and Arabic 
• At least 3 years of relevant experience
