The proposed action will Support the Ratification Process and Implementation of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflicts. The action will undertake the determination of the legal obligations arising from the ratification of the Optional Protocol, advocating for the ratification of the Optional Protocol, Raising the awareness of the general public and relevant stakeholders, Dissemination of the Optional Protocol, building the capacity of governmental and non governmental stakeholders, training of educators from schools and NGOs in order to subsequently educate children. The action will create national resilience and protective frameworks and measures for children.

Overall Objectives: 
Overall objective Support the Ratification Process and Implementation of the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the Involvement of Children in Armed Conflicts. Specific Objectives To ratify the Optional Protocol by the Government To determine legal obligations that will arise from Ratification of the Optional Protocol. To provide the tool s for Rendering national legislations more compatible with the provisions of the CRC in general and the Optional Protocol in particular. To Publicize the rights and obligations under the Optional Protocol To Raise the awareness of relevant stakeholders and Make the principles and provisions of the Protocol widely known and Promote them to adults and children alike. To introduce and build the capacity of Governmental and non Governmental actors with respect to the Optional Protocol To prevent future recruitment of children and create national resilience and protective frameworks and measures for children. To educate children on the CRC, Optional Protocol to change their mindset with respect to conflicts and sustaining non-use of small arms.
